The City of Gretna announces that Police Chief Brian Alexander will be departing the Gretna Police Department to accept the position of Chief of Police for the City of Quincy.

Since joining Gretna in 2017, Chief Alexander has provided outstanding leadership and dedicated service to our community. With more than 25 years of law enforcement experience, he has worked diligently to strengthen public safety, uphold professional standards, and build meaningful relationships with our residents, faith leaders, and business community.

Chief Alexander’s commitment to Gretna and his focus on community oriented policing have left a lasting impact on our city. We are truly grateful for his service and leadership.

Please join us in thanking Chief Alexander for his contributions to Gretna and wishing him continued success in his new role with the City of Quincy.

The City of Gretna will begin the search for a new Chief of Police immediately. We remain committed to ensuring strong leadership and the highest level of public safety for our community.
