Yesterday at the 2025 Annual G.R.I.D. Crawfish Cookoff, we were reminded of what truly makes our community special — the spirit of friendship, family, and service that brings us together.
Over 30 years ago, when my wife and I started our family, we made a commitment to serve our community. We wanted to work alongside others to make our community the best possible place to raise our family — and for our friends to raise theirs.
That commitment led me to a career in public service. It carried me from the humble beginnings of Gretna Fest, to the Gretna City Council, to the halls of our State Capitol, to the chambers of our Parish Council, and through countless events, projects, and initiatives that have invested over $1 billion into improving our community’s quality of life and public safety.
While I am disheartened by the results of this past election, I am at peace knowing how much we have accomplished, and I remain immensely grateful for the trust you have placed in me. Serving the people and communities that I love has truly been the greatest honor of my life.
Thank you to everyone who put a sign in their yard, made a phone call, knocked on a door, and contributed to our mission. Your support means more to me than words can express, and I can never thank you enough.
I also want to take a moment to congratulate my opponents who advanced to the next step of this race. I pray that God grants the final victor the wisdom and grace to unite our community and continue the work to which I have dedicated my life.
Rest assured, my family and I will NEVER stop fighting for the betterment of the Westbank and Jefferson Parish. I WILL NOT — WE WILL NOT — stop advocating for and serving our community.
Just yesterday, Team Templet had a blast participating in the 2025 G.R.I.D. Crawfish Cook-off. Congratulations to all of the teams who placed, and thank you to everyone who came out to support such a great event. Moments like these reaffirm that the future of our community is bright, because our people are strong, dedicated, and full of heart.
No matter what God has in store for us, we each have a role to play in our community’s success. Together, we can continue to achieve great things.
With gratitude, love, and respect — thank you all.
God bless you and our community.
