Convicted of murdering a man and wounding two others and their dog Sweet Pea while trying to collect a drug debt, Arsenio Adams has been sentenced to life in prison plus 50 years. “Arsenio Adams was on a mission for one thing that night: To collect on his drug debt,” Assistant District Attorney Taylor Somerville told jurors in closing argument on July 16. “When they didn’t have it, he lit the house up like a Christmas tree, shooting Mr. Woods eight times. As the second day of his trial was beginning Tuesday (Aug. 18), Armande Tart, 30, pleaded guilty as charged to four murders and an attempted murder in connection with a brutal crime in a Metairie apartment complex in 2017.
