The GES Guardian Run is a fundraiser that supports school events, teacher and staff appreciation, clubs and activities, student programs and more.

The Guardian Run will take place at the GMS track on Thursday, Sept. 17 for the preschool and Friday, Sept. 18 for K-5. Let’s make this Seuss-tacular! 🏃‍♀️

🎩🐱🏃‍♀️ Check those Friday folders, GES families! The Guardian Run is on its way!

What: The GES Guardian Run is a fun-filled fundraiser that supports our school community. Funds help support school events, teacher and staff appreciation, clubs and activities, student programs and more.

When and Where: Join us at the GMS track on September 17 (for the preschool) and September 18 (for K-5) to run, skip, laugh and play!

How: Our goal is to raise $15,000. (That's about $50 per student!) Donate and share the fundraising link below with friends and family. For every $20 donated, your child will be entered into prize raffles. We'll also celebrate school‑wide goals with some super fun prizes!

Let’s make this Seuss-tacular and show our GES teachers and community just how much we appreciate them! 💚

A portion of sales will benefit our students. The dine-out night is valid only at the 12140 S. 216th Plaza location in Gretna.

Introducing Gretna Elementary School’s new outdoor classroom! We love this beautiful new space. Here are a few highlights:

🌾 The outdoor classroom includes an ADA-accessible table, making the space welcoming for all students.
🌾 The classroom was on our teachers’ wishlist and was paid for by those who donated to the Guardian Run and other PTO events.
🌾 This new space gives students and teachers a hands-on setting to enjoy the outdoors.

A special thank you to Cavanaugh LandEscapes for their incredible labor and design work, and to Rocky’s Stone & Design for donating the stone. We also want to give a shout out to Jeff and Sarah Wegner, a GES family who installed the tables and a drip irrigation system for the plantings. This project truly wasn’t possible without you.

We can’t wait to see all the learning and exploring that happen here!

GES families, you did it! Thanks to your generous donations, the staff lounge is stocked, organized and ready to welcome our awesome staff back for a new school year! 🍎

We’re also so grateful to the amazing volunteers who spent their afternoon helping get the lounge ready. Your hard work and generosity mean so much! 🫶🏻

Did you know the PTO and our amazing GES families raised money for an outdoor classroom? The classroom was on our teachers’ wishlist, and made possible by those who donated to the Guardian Run and other PTO events. We’re so excited that it’s complete in time for the new school year.

🎉💚 Celebrating Our 2026 Gretna Elementary PTO Scholarship Recipient! 💚🎉

We are incredibly proud to share that this year’s Gretna Schools Foundation scholarship—sponsored by the Gretna Elementary PTO—has been awarded to Sam Boeselager!

Sam is a proud Gretna Elementary School alum, and we couldn’t be more excited to cheer him on as he takes his next big step. This fall, Sam will be heading to Colorado State University to study construction management.

Please join us in congratulating Sam on this well‑deserved honor and wishing him all the success in the world as he begins his college journey. Way to go, Sam! 🎓✨
