Students from Athlos Academy participated in a fire safety demonstration at Station 47 during their recent outing to Bellvue Park. The educational session focused on proactive safety measures, including the importance of smoke detectors and emergency maneuvers like "Stop, Drop, and Roll."

The program concluded with a tactile learning experience, where students learned about bunker gear and operated a fire hose under supervision. The visit provided a unique opportunity for youth to engage with local first responders and gain a firsthand look at the equipment and vehicles used to keep the community safe.

Each student left with a bag of Fire Prevention goodies to take home.

The David Crockett Fire Prevention Bureau was pleased to visit Carlie Care Kids on Richard Street this past Tuesday, April 21st.

Members of the bureau engaged with the Pre-K class to share vital fire safety messages tailored for early childhood development. These community visits allow students to see fire equipment in a controlled, educational environment, helping to build confidence and awareness among our youngest citizens.

We thank the staff and students at Carlie Care Kids for their warm welcome and participation.

The David Crockett Fire Prevention team had a blast today at the GRID Crawfish Cookoff at Mel Ott Park. We loved getting to see so many friendly faces and sharing tips on how to keep our community safe.

Highlights from the Day:

Patches the Robot was the star of the show! Whether you were a kid or just a kid at heart, Patches was there to entertain and educate everyone who stopped by.

Safety Essentials: We made sure no one left empty-handed! Everyone who visited our table received fire prevention materials to take home.

Great Weather & Better Company: It was the perfect day to support a great cause and connect with our neighbors.

Thanks to everyone who came out to say hi! Remember: stay safe, stay informed, and enjoy that crawfish!

Stay safe and be prepared!

In an emergency, every second counts. Knowing how to use a fire extinguisher properly can make all the difference.

Just remember the simple acronym P.A.S.S.

📍 P - PULL the pin.
📍 A - AIM low at the base of the fire.
📍 S - SQUEEZE the lever slowly and evenly.
📍 S - SWEEP the nozzle from side to side.

The David Crockett Fire Department has Holiday advice you can’t ignore.

The beauty of a Christmas tree can turn dangerous in seconds if we’re not careful. Every year, preventable fires destroy homes and memories during the holiday season.

*Keep your tree watered daily

*Give it space—at least 3 feet from heat sources

*Inspect your lights and replace damaged wires

*Always turn off lights before bed or leaving home

One spark can engulf an entire room in under 60 seconds.

Let’s keep the holidays joyful, safe, and bright. Share this reminder with family and friends—it could save a life.
