This past week was Dispatcher Appreciation week. We showed our thanks for our Bexar County Fire Marshal/Office of Emergency Management dispatchers with T shirts and challenge coins.

Earlier last week, We conducted a soft opening of Station 183, located on Toutant Beauregard. This will increase our response capabilities to the surrounding neighborhoods and allow for quicker responses for our mutual aid partners. If you happen to be in the area, please stop by for a tour. Bexar County ESD 8 2026 Firefighter Gala was a great turn out for our Firefighters. We would like to thank our Family and Friends who attended and thanks for all your support. We would also like to thank Olive Branch Catering for preparing the dinner for our event. We would also like to thank a few sponsors that donated to our event for door prizes.

This morning, We held an entrance exam for over 20 individuals. With Station 3 coming online soon, we are expanding our staff to make sure we maintain staffing at all 3 stations.

Bexar County ESD 8 deployed a structural engine and a strike team leader to the panhandle to assist with the growing wildfire threat. We also deployed an individual firefighter to assist with dozer operations for South Texas.

We are appreciative of the hospitality shown to our crews from the Fairfield Fire Department, and glad to have been able to help.

We deployed 2 crews for the winter weather. Our Rescue and a Command Aid went to Kerrville to assist kerr County and the surrounding area. Engine 181 was initially deployed to Hillsboro to assist Hill County, but was later moved to Fairfield, Tx to assist the Fairfield Fire Department with their emergency responses.

Thank you to all those that have kept us going in this winter wonderland known as Fairfield, TX.

We want to recognize a few that have made a big difference TIFMAS Strike Team 122/Bexar County ESD Number 8, also those that have helped at Brookshire Brothers for food and resources, Fairfield AutoZone that opened early to get us deicer for our windshields having to respond to early morning calls, and all the departments we have worked with in the past 24 hours including Fairfield PD, Fairfield EMS, our local DPS Officers, and Southern Oaks VFD.

This isn't done yet and neither are we, if you see us in the store, give a high five and remind us how much you appreciate your fire fighting volunteers!
