nient one-hour drive north of Sacramento, only 20 minutes north of the rapidly expanding urban area of Yuba City and just 27 miles south of Chico. Newcomers of all ages are lured to the Gridley area by the friendly small-town atmosphere. It is as attractive to young couples raising a family as retired senior citizens. The City and community support an active and creative recreation program. The area is also home to some of the best hunting and fishing in the state. Gridley's compact footprint complements the rich and fertile agricultural lands that surround the City. One need only travel a few minutes in any direction before reaching wide open spaces of beautiful rolling rice fields and lush green orchards. Gridley continues to chart its own destiny by providing water, wastewater, and electrical services to residents and businesses.

City of Gridley Residents -

Thank you for your patience and understanding in our most recent posts. Our staff was in several meetings today, ending with a 3:30 PM meeting with PG&E.

During that discussion, PG&E informed us that the planned outage could potentially be reduced to about 4 hours, with additional shorter outages scheduled as needed until the work is fully completed.

There is still a possibility that a 12-hour outage may need to happen; however, the City is requesting backup generators to help reduce impacts. PG&E is currently working on an agreement to support us with backup generation and will be providing cost estimates and a draft agreement next week.

We will be providing an official update at our City Council meeting on Monday at 6 pm. We invite you all to attend.

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office has transitioned its emergency notification system from CodeRED to Butte County Emergency Alerts.

BCSO recommends that all residents create and manage their own accounts to ensure they receive emergency alerts tailored to their preferences. By managing your own account, you can choose your preferred language and select the methods through which you would like to be notified in the event of an emergency.
