The Carlock Public Library, Chatsworth Area Library, Chenoa Public Library, Danvers Township Library, Deer Creek District Library, Dominy Memorial Library, El Paso Public Library, Eureka Public Library, Filger Public Library, Flanagan Public Library District, Forrest Public Library District, Gridley Public Library District, Hudson Area Public Library District, Lexington Public Library District, Martin Township Public Library, Odell Public Library District, Pontiac Public Library, Prairie Creek Public Library District, Towanda District Library, and Cheney's Grove Township Library are teaming together to host the 4th annual ‘Library Crawl.’
Our collective hope with the library crawl is to allow people to have fun while exploring the wonderful libraries and communities in our area! It’s a great opportunity to let people know their library card is honored at RSA-member libraries (and most other public libraries in Illinois).

The Library Crawl will run June 1-August 31. Beginning June 1, visitors can pick up a map from any of the participating libraries. Between June 1 and August 31, patrons are encouraged to visit as many libraries as they’d like. Participants will visit other libraries and communities and fill out a map with a sticker given by each library. Visitors will also be encouraged to “pin” their home library on the large display map.

Each library is offering different prizes to all the visitors of the Library Crawl. The more libraries you visit the more opportunities to win! Stop by a library listed above to pick up a map and spend your summer exploring attractions and libraries in surrounding towns! At each library visited, they will receive a sticker or stamp for the front of their map. Library crawl participants age 16 and over may drop an entry coupon in our raffle box (one entry per person). Each library will draw a winner at the end of the summer. (The prize will be a gift card to a business TBD.) This is intended to be a fun activity for people, not a competition! Come to one, come to eighteen, we just want you to “check out” what the area libraries have to offer!

**New at the StoryWalk!**

A fourth quarter enrichment class at EPGMS has created *AMAZING* posters about Memorial Day, Military traditions, American symbols, and local historical monuments. School's out for the summer so we couldn't use the kindness club to help us install them, but with a little bribing and some child labor 😂 we got them all in today-just in time for the holiday weekend.🦅🇺🇸

We had alternate StoryWalk book plans for summer reading, but decided that these posters were just too great to only have out only for Memorial Day. So, we're shifting things around and going to have them out through July 4th for America's 250th birthday!

We hope you will stop out at the StoryWalk and check these out! We are so proud of the work these kids did and so thankful for the teachers (Mrs. Hall, Mrs. Sanders, Mrs. Sanders' sub) who helped them do this! We have America 250 passports in the info box if you want to do more America 250 things this summer and American Flags at the library for anyone who stops by the library and tells us you visited the StoryWalk!

We have some extra tea cup and succulents from Ladies Night Out. We're asking $5/cup. IF I had been on the ball, I would have had these ready for Mother's Day, but I was not. So, you can come in now and get them for Memorial Day! Or the Summer! Or just because!
We will try to keep them alive for you. I make no promises. 🤣🌿☕️

As we are gearing up for Summer Reading, we've been doing a little updating/housekeeping....
Some of you may have received a letter recently about "Lost Books" on your account, we want to remind you if your account is "Blocked" that means you cannot checkout anything until you pay your fines or pay for your lost book. This also includes participation in Summer Reading!
Also, we ran a report for expired Library Cards and those letters have also gone out in the mail. If your card remains expired for three years or more and you have no outstanding bills, your card may be deleted.
To continue to enjoy borrowing privileges and digital resources, please visit our front desk or call the library to renew your card. (309.747.2284)
If you haven’t been into the library in a while, you are missing out on a lot of new features, including a Makerspace area, communal activities like jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles, and Coloring Club.
Also, for those of you who prefer audio or e-books we offer three different platforms for our patrons to get their book or movie fix. You have to have an active card with a valid PIN (you can call the library and set this up in less than five minutes) to access these features!
In addition to the physical changes in the library there have been some staff changes in the past few years as well! We’d love for you to stop by, say hi, and check out all the new things we have to offer. If you don’t want to renew your card, no problem. We will delete it from our system once the three years has elapsed provided you have no outstanding bills. No further action is required.
Sincerely,
Gridley Library Staff
