Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) is so very thankful for all of our Partners in Education. So many businesses and organizations help provide opportunities and experiences for our students and teachers. Our district partners that each contribute in excess of $10,000 in value to help students are: Brightmoor, Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, First National Bank, Georgia Banking Company, Marco's Pizza, Piedmont Fayette Hospital and United Bank. Thank you! Many others support the REACH and similar scholarships, individual schools, fine arts, athletics, and more. Some, like Norcom, provide school supplies. Some take part in the Partners in Education Fundraiser Golf Tournament (Sept 25 this year). Others serve as mentors and reading tutors for students. Community churches host events, volunteer at schools and pray for our students and staff. Thank you Griffin and Spalding for supporting our future through public education. We need you and we appreciate you!

We had our first Leader of the Month assembly today! Planned ENTIRELY by our 5th grade lighthouse team! These guys rocked it out. Congratulations to all of our leaders this month!

As our lighthouse team reminded us, the real magic is in applying the 7 Habits. Way to go cougars!

GSCS principals were celebrated today for their attendance efforts during the 2025-26 school year. Congratulations to Crescent Elementary for having the lowest absences in the district! Congratulations to Carver Road Middle for having the largest decrease in absences from the previous year! Congratulations to Beaverbrook, Futral Road, Jackson Road and Crescent Elementary for being below the state average in absences!

All GSCS school principals received certificates this morning from The Georgia Accrediting Commission, Inc. for meeting all necessary standards to be Accredited with Quality for the 2026-27 school year. Congratulations!
