Today, we have the privilege of celebrating a remarkable milestone and honoring a man whose impact on Spalding County can be felt across generations. We gather to recognize Chester "Robby" Milner for 30 years of dedicated service to Spalding County.

For three decades, Robby has been a driving force in recreation, athletics, community engagement, and mentorship. Throughout his career with Spalding County Leisure Services, he has worn many hats, serving as Athletic Coordinator, Recreation Supervisor, Programs Manager, and trusted leader. In every role, his focus has remained the same: serving people and creating opportunities for others to succeed.

Robby's influence reaches far beyond the ball fields and recreation centers. As a pastor, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle Leader, chaplain, mentor, and community advocate, he has invested countless hours into helping young people build confidence, character, and purpose. Whether organizing youth clinics, mentoring future leaders, launching impactful summer programs, or helping bring major projects like our aquatic center to life, Robby has always led with vision, humility, and a servant's heart.

His leadership has earned numerous honors throughout the years, including induction into the Griffin-Spalding Sports Hall of Fame and, most notably, the 2024 Georgia Recreation and Park Association Athletic/Aquatic Network Distinguished Professional Award. That prestigious recognition reflected what we in Spalding County have known for a long time:

Robby's commitment to excellence, innovation, and service is truly exceptional.
But perhaps his greatest achievement cannot be measured by awards or titles. It is the thousands of lives he has touched, the young people he has encouraged, the colleagues he has mentored, and the stronger community he has helped build.

Robby, your 30 years of service represent a legacy of leadership, faith, compassion, and dedication. On behalf of Spalding County, thank you for your unwavering commitment and for the positive impact you continue to make every day.

What a great day! The weather was perfect, the fish were biting, and families came out ready for some friendly competition and fun. 😍

Congratulations to our winners:

BIGGEST FISH: Elijah White, with a 3.5-pound catfish!

MOST FISH CAUGHT: The Parker-Greene Family, with an incredible 67 fish!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this year’s derby such a great time. We enjoyed seeing the families, the competition, and all the fun throughout the morning. 🟡

We’ll see you next year for the 5th Annual Family Fishing Derby! 🔵

Splash-A-Palooza Celebration @ the Aquatic Center was an incredible success, and it wouldn't have been possible without everyone who came out to celebrate with us! Hearing our residents share their "why" reminds us why events like these matter. 😍

The Spalding County Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program is federally funded and works to reduce poverty through nutrition, education, youth services, and emergency assistance. This survey is anonymous and voluntary.
