With heavy hearts, Spalding County Leisure Services mourns the passing of our beloved colleague, Toreion Simon.

Toreion served as Supervisor of Fairmont Community Center since October 10, 2017, touching the lives of youth, adults and families throughout the community. We are grateful for her years of service and the difference she made in the lives of those she served.

Please keep Toreion’s family, friends, coworkers and the Fairmont community in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. 💜

Spalding County Leisure Services will close the following facilities on October 10th as a precaution ahead of anticipated severe weather:

Spalding County Aquatic Center
City Park
Fairmont Park
Our Legacy Museum

These closures prioritize the safety of residents, visitors, and staff.

Normal business operations will resume
Monday, October 12th.

Any changes to this schedule will be announced through official Spalding County communication channels.

Residents are encouraged to monitor weather alerts and follow guidance from local emergency officials.

Welcome to the team Steven!

Did you know Spalding County has a new director of Leisure Services?
Welcome, Mr. Steven Maxwell!

Maxwell brings over 15 years of experience and a passion for building stronger communities through recreation. He holds a bachelor's degree in Recreational Leadership from Jacksonville State University and a Master of Public Administration from Troy University. Maxwell is also a graduate of the National Recreation and Park Association's Director School, a prestigious leadership development program for current and emerging park and recreation directors.

Let's give Mr. Maxwell a warm Spalding County welcome! We look forward to the positive impact his leadership will have on our parks, programs, and community for years to come.
