Something big is coming to Downtown Griffin this summer!

For the first time ever, the City of Griffin and InSpalding will light up the night sky with a spectacular drone show as part of the America 250th and Spalding County 175th Celebration Week. Join us on Friday, July 11th, during the 2nd Saturday All-American Summer Block Party for an unforgettable evening featuring live music, food trucks, and a one-of-a-kind drone show experience beginning at 9:30PM.

This exciting new addition to our community celebration will combine technology, patriotism, and entertainment in a way Griffin has never seen before. You will not want to miss this historic moment as we come together to honor our past and celebrate our future. THANK YOU to the Griffin-Spalding Business and Tourism Association (In Griffin) for sponsoring the drone show.

The community celebration kicks off on July 4th with the Independence Day Parade at 10AM, fireworks at dark, and free events and activities throughout the week. More details, event schedules, and special announcements are coming soon!

From the National Weather Service (NWS):
A few showers are moving through the area this morning, along with humid, cloudy conditions and patchy fog. Rain chances will continue today, with the greatest coverage expected during the afternoon and evening—though overall coverage may be slightly lower than in recent days. Some storms could produce locally heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and frequent lightning.

Rain chances are expected to decrease somewhat on Thursday, but scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms are still likely. Looking ahead, rain chances are forecast to increase again on Friday and Saturday.
