The next Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Fi****ms Class is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026.
The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office offers the Introduction to Fi****ms class for individuals who have little or no experience with fi****ms. Topics such as fi****ms laws, when and where to carry, use of deadly force, and marksmanship fundamentals will be covered and discussed. Students will have the opportunity to fire a weapon under the guidance of a fi****ms instructor and will receive instruction on proper marksmanship fundamentals.
The cost is $35 and covers the following: a box lunch from Chick-fil-A, ammunition (.380, .38 Special, 9mm, and .22 Long Rifle), and firearm use. You may bring your own firearm or use one of ours. If you are interested in taking this informative class, please let us know!
The classroom portion, held in the morning, is located at the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office, 401 Justice Blvd., Griffin, GA 30224. The range portion, held in the afternoon, is located at Shoal Creek Range, 575 Shoal Creek Road, Griffin, GA 30223.
The class will be held from 9:00 a.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m. The class is for individuals 18 and over. Participants cannot have a felony conviction or a domestic violence (family violence) conviction.
