I want to thank all the veterans for your service. I am eternally grateful for your sacrifice. I have traveled to other places in this world and am so glad I was born in the USA!

I would also like to share a special thank you to my brother-in-law, Eric Miller and sister Lanette Miller whose service at Fort Campbell was/is honorable.

Eric (Army Airborne) is twice retired:
1) Army
2) Teacher (just this year)!

Nettie (Night Stalkers) still likes numbers and spreadsheets!

Don’t let the rain today keep you from reaching the potential voters you know. Text your family, friends, and acquaintances asking if they have a plan to vote. Every connection matters‼️

Let’s get out and vote!

This Halloween, beware of SF496—the law that 𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀 Iowa’s public school libraries. Shelves emptied, stories silenced, voices erased.

Under SF496, books exploring identity, race, and empathy are 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄𝘀, leaving our students with a chilling silence where knowledge once thrived. Imagine classrooms where the most powerful stories are stripped away, replaced by fear and restriction.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗸. This Halloween, be a voice for change. Confront the real monster—book bans—and fight to keep Iowa’s shelves open for all.

A night focused on the state of education in Iowa. Thank you to a mentor and friend, Pam Vogel, for organizing the opportunity to learn from Mark Lane, Woodward-Granger School District Superintendent and Cindy Yelick, Heartland AEA 11 Chief Administrator. The knowledge they shared is unmatched. My number one reason for running is my passion for education and the students our system serves. Tony Thompson for Iowa and I look forward to representing the districts in HD 45 and HD 46!

I will prioritize education! I believe teaching is the most important job in the world! It has been an honor to teach every student that I have taught — over 3000 students when I taught MS and HS science. 100s of young women I coached. Over 50,000 students have reared monarch butterflies and understand the importance of pollination for our food supply and the need for conservation. And thousands of other youth have participated in the curriculum developed at Iowa State University 4-H Youth Development where I was the lead author for Monarchs on the Move, Native Bee Challenge and Water Connects Us All.

There is a stark difference. Check out our answers in the Des Moines register:

An incumbent faces a challenger looking to flip Iowa House District 46, which includes Grimes, western Urbandale, Granger and Woodward.

Ditto! As a former teacher, I completely understand. We have completely underfunded education for years and years. Time for a change in Iowa!

It was such a “Joy” for our campaign to be a part of the Grimes Parks and Recreation Trunk or Treat. It was with “Sadness” that I couldn’t be there in person to meet the voters in all the cute kiddos lives.

I look forward to representing HD 46 and all the families that are a part of it.

(I’m told the Cyber Truck was a hit with both the young and the wise!)
