Public Safety Notice – Abandoned Vehicles During Severe Weather

If you see a vehicle stopped on the side of the road with yellow scene, caution, or fire tape attached, please be aware:

The vehicle has already been checked by emergency responders to ensure there are no occupants in or around the vehicle. This marking helps prevent duplicate searches and allows responders to focus on motorists who may still need assistance.

If you encounter a vehicle without tape and are concerned about someone’s safety, please contact local law enforcement or dial 911 to report it.

Thank you for helping keep our responders and community safe during severe weather conditions.
