Come out August 2nd and enjoy another great National Night Out hosted by Groesbeck PD. As always, all the events and goodies are free of charge.

We are two weeks out from Groesbeck Police Department’s National Night Out 2022!

This year is shaping up to be the best one yet so I want to invite you to join us at the Groesbeck City Park from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on August 2nd. I know this summer has been a stressful one with the never-ending heat and the rising costs of just about everything so please take this opportunity to come hang out with us and enjoy a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Best of all, it’s FREE!

When you’re ready to take a break from the action, swing thru the food court and grab yourself a bite courtesy of these sponsors:

Limestone Medical Center: Snow Cone Station

Farmers State Bank: Cotton Candy and Popcorn

Carter Enterprises (Pizza Hut) & Clean Cut Cleaners: Pizza and Hotdogs

Dr. Pepper of Waco & Groesbeck Funeral Home: Soda Station

Special thanks to the members of the Living Proof Church as they continue their service to the community by assisting with food preparation and service.

Remember, this event is made possible by the continued support of our business community and our dedicated citizens and organizations. If you have any questions regarding National Night Out, please contact Chief Henson or Detective Cox at 254-729-3497.

With the current media trend of covering anti law enforcement related events, I wanted to take a moment to counter that with my experience yesterday afternoon. K9 Teddy and I were on our way home from a k9 casualty care course in Brenham. Around 4:00 PM we were just north of Mumford on FM 50 when a radiator hose connection broke and my Tahoe began to overheat. I pulled safely off the road into a driveway and called Al Boytis. Al said he could not get away from his mechanic shop for a couple of more hours but would contact Texas Towing to come to my location.
A few minutes later, two young men, on their way home from their jobs on a pipeline project in the area, stopped to help. With additional help, by means of a hose clamp and antifreeze, provided by the brother of the farmer, whose driveway I pulled into, K9 Teddy and I were soon on our way. One of the young men who initially stopped stated he was going through Groesbeck anyway and would follow us to make sure we made it back. On the way, home I contacted Al and Texas Towing to let them know they could cancel the posse.
I said all that to say this, do not fall into the belief the nation is against law enforcement. There are vastly more here who appreciate and support law enforcement than there are who hate, despise and ridicule us. Lastly, but foremost, I want to thank those supporters and especially those previously mentioned who went out of their way to help us make it home yesterday.
