🚧 Heads Up, Grosse Ile! 🚧

The Parkway Bridge over the Trenton Channel will be closed on June 24 & 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for routine inspections.

No vehicle traffic will be allowed on the bridge during these times, so plan ahead and use alternate routes.

🏊 Please see the update below from the Grosse Ile Recreation Department regarding the Water's Edge Pool House renovation project and the status of the 2026 pool season.

We appreciate everyone's patience as Recreation staff, Township officials, Wayne County, and project contractors work toward completing this important improvement project.

Here's a quick look at what Supervisor Joe Porcarelli discussed this week:

🏊 Water's Edge Pool opening efforts continue

🌉 A Toll Bridge engineering presentation is scheduled for the July 13 Township Board meeting.

📋 Only half of the approved Toll Bridge levy (0.8 mills) will be collected this December.

🚴 Bike path repairs are planned for June 6–12, weather permitting.

🚧 Concrete road work in the Church Road and Ferry Road areas is expected to begin around June 11, weather permitting.

This month's lessons:
• Lock your car.
• Then double-check that you locked your car.
• Don't leave wallets, key fobs, cash, or literally anything you enjoy owning inside your unlocked car.
• Don't drink and drive.
• Don't fire a handgun during an argument.
• Don't offer strangers rides while exposing yourself.

Honestly, if everyone followed those six rules, the blotter would be a lot shorter.

🗓️ June 19 • July 17 • August 21
⏰ 6–9 PM

Set up shop for one night or all three and spend the evening convincing the rest of us that we absolutely do need another candle, plant, handmade sign, bracelet, loaf of bread, or mystery item we didn’t plan on buying but now can’t live without.
