You may have seen some of the photos and celebrations already, but the 66th Annual Grosse Pointe Sail Club Sundown Series officially got underway on May 19th!

Even though we’ve already completed the first two races of the seven-race Spring Series, there is still plenty of time to join and fully compete in both the Spring and Summer Series standings.

Because both series are scored using your best 5 races, and assuming Mother Nature cooperates so we aren't forced to cancel any races, boats registering now can still sail enough races for their scores to count without those first two races becoming season-ending DNCs. In other words, you are absolutely not too late to join the series and still be competitive throughout the season.

We’re excited to report strong participation, with over 50 boats across the fleet:

--(4) PHRF spinnaker classes
--A healthy Cruising Class racing without poles and using asymmetrical spinnakers
--A JAM fleet
--Two thriving one-design classes: Cal 25s with 7 boats, Crescents with 7 boats

Whether you’re looking for close competition, a great weeknight tradition, or just more time on the water with an active fleet, now is still a great time to jump in.

⚓️⛵️ What a beautiful day on the waterfront! The Pancake Breakfast and Blessing of the Fleet yesterday was truly smooth sailing from start to finish. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came aboard and participated in this wonderful GPSC tradition.

The Grosse Pointe Sail Club continues to chart a course for fun, friendship, and community with so many fantastic events throughout the season — and we were thrilled to welcome all Grosse Pointe Park residents to join in the festivities.

A special salute goes out to all the dedicated members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and hosted this memorable event. Your hard work and hospitality helped make the day a true success.

Time to RSVP!

Join us for a fun-filled day on beautiful Anchor Bay! Enjoy stunning lake views from the patio, sunroom, and expansive lawn. Bring your swimsuit and towel if you’d like to swim or wade in the crystal-clear, sandy-bottom bay. Swim mats and other water toys will be available to share!
