🔥🚒 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FAVORITE BOAT CAPTAIN! 🚒🔥 Yes, the one in the shades. The Dr‑Pepper‑powered menace. The mower. The myth.

Today we celebrate the BBVFD’s very own Captain Wildlife‑Feeder, who once spent an ENTIRE deer season doing absolutely nothing but: feeding every deer, raccoon, possum, squirrel, and freeloading critter in Iberville Parish. Not one deer was shot. He was running a full‑service buffet in the woods.

We felt so bad for him, we bought him a blow‑up deer for Christmas so he could finally say he “got one.” And honestly? It’s still his biggest trophy.

Now let’s talk about this legend:

He’s a boat captain by trade and short enough that if he drops something under the truck, he’s basically going spelunking. He's not the shortest on oir crew — just short enough to make jokes easy. His wife, my sister calls him a grass‑pro with a heart, and YES — I changed the language for public posting, 😆

He drinks Dr Pepper like it’s blessed by the Diocese, and if you hand him anything else he’ll act like you just insulted his entire bloodline. And the grass? Lord help us. He cuts the grass even when it’s already cut. Freshly mowed? He’s mowing again. Perfectly edged? He’s edging again. Grass still wet? He’s out there like, “It’s fine.” His yard is the prettiest in the parish because he’s THAT guy — the one silently judging your lawn behind his shades.

And instead of spending his birthday hunting wildlife (which we now know he only feeds anyway)… he spent it doing firehouse chores and helping the BBVFD crew get things squared away. Short king dedication.

So here’s to you, Captain: The man who can run a boat, run a mower, run his mouth, and still run to help his community every single time. Short, sassy, lawn‑obsessed, Dr‑Pepper‑powered, wildlife‑feeding, blow‑up‑deer‑owning, and absolutely family.

🔥🚒 Happy Birthday, Dameonn.
May your grass stay green, your wildlife stay fed, and your Dr Pepper stay cold.

🔥🚨TUESDAY PSA — FINAL ROUND OF PRESSURE TESTING & THE PARISH IS ON THIN ICE

Good morning, Iberville Parish!! It’s Tuesday, the grand finale, the last lap, the final episode of “Why Is My Water Pressure Acting Like It Has Attitude.”

💧YES, pressure testing continues TODAY.
💧YES, your water pressure might dip again.
💧NO, it does NOT mean you need to call your cousin who “knows somebody.”

Some of y’all woke up READY to be dramatic. I saw one person outside tapping their faucet like it was a misbehaving child. Another was staring at their hose like it owed them an apology and back pay.

Meanwhile…

Maw‑Maw is on her porch with her sweet tea, giving the parish that Tuesday morning judgment stare that could straighten a sinner’s spine. She said in full church‑lady authority, “Lord, give them strength. And sense. Mostly sense.”

If Maw‑Maw is praying for your sense, you KNOW it’s serious.

And as for me? My fingers have officially entered their ‘don’t talk to me until this is over’ era. They’re typing like they’re trying to escape the building. If they had legs, they’d be halfway to Baton Rouge by now.

But listen — for real:

✨Thank y'all for your patience.
✨Thank you for not panicking (too much).
✨Thank you for rolling with us through this two‑day water‑pressure testing.

We appreciate y’all more than you know. Pressure testing wraps today. Everything is fine. Stop interrogating your plumbing.
And remember: Maw‑Maw sees EVERYTHING. 🔥🙏

🔥🚨MONDAY PSA — PRESSURE TESTING HAS BEGUN & THE PARISH IS ALREADY ACTING UP🚨🔥

Good morning, Iberville Parish — it’s Monday, the day when everyone suddenly remembers all the things they were supposed to do last week. Meanwhile, your BBVFD is out here kicking off pressure testing, and I swear some of y’all woke up READY to be dramatic. I saw three people staring at their faucets like they were waiting for a message from the Lord.

💧YES, pressure testing is happening TODAY & TOMORROW.
💧YES, your water pressure might dip.
💧NO, it does NOT mean the rapture is starting on LA‑77.

And you KNOW who’s already on duty…

Maw‑Maw is on her porch with her sweet tea, watching the road like she’s the unofficial bishop of Bayou Blue. She hit me with that Monday morning church‑lady tone: “Tell them calm down. Y’all know how they get.” If Maw‑Maw says calm down, you better calm down.

So here’s your Monday motivation:
✨ Pressure testing is NORMAL
✨ Water pressure dips are TEMPORARY
✨ Do not call your cousin, your neighbor, or your ex
✨ And for the love of all things holy, stop staring at your faucet like it owes you money

We’re working. Maw‑Maw is watching. And Monday is already spicy. 🔥💅🙏

🔥🚨SUNDAY PSA — THE CALM BEFORE THE PRESSURE TESTING STORM🚨🔥

Happy Sunday, Iberville Parish — the day when everyone pretends they’re “resting” but is actually running around like they forgot tomorrow exists.

Meanwhile, your BBVFD is gearing up for pressure testing, and I’m over here trying to mentally prepare like I’m about to run a marathon I did NOT sign up for.

💧Pressure testing starts TOMORROW & TUESDAY.
Yes, THAT pressure testing. Yes, the one that makes folks act like the water pressure dipping is a message from the heavens.

And you KNOW who’s already ready…

Maw‑Maw is on her porch with her sweet tea, giving the parish that Sunday morning church‑lady stare like: “Y’all better not start up with the dramatics tomorrow.” She said it with the same tone she uses when she tells people she’s praying for them — the tone that means she’s praying because she knows you’re about to act a fool.

So here’s your Sunday reminder:
✨ Enjoy your water pressure while it’s behaving
✨ Hydrate like you’re preparing for spiritual battle
✨ Don’t start rumors
✨ Pressure testing is NORMAL
✨ And Maw‑Maw will be watching like an usher with a badge

Rest up — tomorrow’s holy chaos is warming up. 🔥💅🙏

08/15/2026

🔥🚨SATURDAY PSA — Y’ALL BETTER GET YOUR HYDRATION IN ORDER🚨🔥

Happy Saturday, Iberville Parish — the day when everyone pretends they’re “running errands,” but we all know half of y’all are just riding around looking for something to gossip about.

Meanwhile, the BBVFD is gearing up for pressure testing, and I’m over here trying to organize my life like Monday isn’t about to roll in with the enthusiasm of a toddler on Red Bull.

💧Pressure testing starts MONDAY & TUESDAY.
Yes, THAT pressure testing. Yes, the one that makes folks act like the water pressure dipping is a divine message meant specifically for them.

And you KNOW who’s already prepared…

Maw‑Maw is on her porch with her sweet tea, giving the parish that “I know y’all about to act up” look. She said in full church‑lady authority, “Don’t let me hear nobody hollerin’ tomorrow. Y’all know what’s coming.” She said it with the same tone she uses when she tells people she’s praying for them, the tone that means she’s praying because she knows you’re a handful.

So here’s your Saturday spiritual checklist:
✨ Drink water like you’re preparing for a revival
✨ Don’t start rumors
✨ Pressure testing is NORMAL
✨ And Maw‑Maw is watching with the accuracy of a seasoned pew‑patroller

Enjoy your Saturday — Monday’s holy chaos is warming up. 🔥💅🙏

08/14/2026

🔥🚨FRIDAY PSA — PRESSURE TESTING IS COMING & MAW‑MAW HAS ALREADY ISSUED A WARNING🚨🔥

Happy Friday, Iberville Parish, the day when everyone pretends they’re productive while spiritually checking out. Meanwhile, my BBVFD fingers are STILL over here begging for vacation pay or any pay really, because next week is about to be a whole level of busy.

💧Pressure testing starts MONDAY & TUESDAY.
Yes, THAT pressure testing. Yes, the one that makes folks act like the water pressure dropping is a sign of the end times. Before anyone starts clutching their pearls or calling their cousin who “knows somebody at the water company,” let me say this: It’s normal. It’s planned. It’s fine.

And you KNOW who already confirmed it…

Maw‑Maw was on her porch before sunrise, sweet tea in hand, giving the parish that holy side‑eye like: “Y’all better not start acting dramatic. They ain’t even begun yet.”

She said it with the same tone she uses when she tells people she’s praying for them — the tone that means she’s praying because she knows you need help.

So here’s your Friday reminder:
✨ Pressure testing is coming
✨ Water pressure may dip
✨ Everything is fine
✨ Maw‑Maw is watching
✨ And I’m over here typing like I’m trying to earn PTO we don’t even have

Stay tuned Monday’s chaos is warming up. 🔥💅🙏

08/13/2026

Y’all… The BBVFD has had me typing so much this month my fingers are DEMANDING vacation pay; and we’re VOLUNTEER. That’s how you know the Lord is testing me.

Birthday roasts. Chief’s announcements. PSAs. More PSAs.
Even MORE PSAs. At this point, my keyboard is looking at me like,
“Sweetheart… go light a candle. You need divine intervention.” And guess what? Next week is about to get BUSY!!

💧Pressure testing is happening Monday & Tuesday.
Yes, THAT pressure testing. Yes, the one that makes folks act like the water bill finally found them. And you KNOW who already knows…

Maw‑Maw slid onto her porch at sunrise with her sweet tea like: “Mmhm. I’ll be watching.” (She said it with the same tone she uses when she tells people she’s praying for them; you know the one.)

So consider this your official heads‑up: More updates are coming.
More typing is coming. More finger suffering is coming. And Maw‑Maw is already in position, judging the parish with the accuracy of a seasoned church lady.

Stay tuned; the BBVFD saga continues. 🔥💅🙏

🔥🎉HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MANDI!!!! OUR SHY LITTLE POWERHOUSE WHO SOMEHOW ENDS UP AS THE ELF EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.🎉🔥

Let’s all take a moment to appreciate Mandi, my younger sister, the quiet one who stays tucked in the back of the room like she’s trying to blend into the sheetrock… Except when Christmas rolls around.

Because every December, without fail, she gets drafted into elf duty like it’s a federal mandate. She doesn’t volunteer. She doesn’t ask. She doesn’t even make eye contact. But somehow she ALWAYS ends up in that green suit, striped leggings, and pointy hat like she’s on payroll at the North Pole.

And the best part? She’s shy. She’s gentle. She’s soft‑spoken. But she works harder than half the men in Iberville Parish, quietly, steadily, without bragging, without noise, without needing a spotlight. She’ll show up, help, haul, carry, clean, organize, and do it all with that “don’t mind me” energy that makes her impossible not to admire.

And then there’s her other talent…

Because if there’s food? Oh, she’s materializing out of thin air like a shy little woodland creature with perfect timing. She’ll slide in, grab a plate, eat like she earned it (because she probably did), and vanish before anyone can say “Where’d she go?”

We even nicknamed her Dine‑n‑Dash, not because she’s rude, but because she’s efficient. She’s the only person I know who can be invisible all day, then appear at the exact moment the food hits the table like she’s got a built‑in radar for seasoning.

But NOTHING; and I mean nothing tops the firehouse Christmas picture. Santa’s smiling. The kids are adorable. And then there’s Mandi the Elf; standing there like the reluctant supervisor of the entire holiday operation. She’s got that stance that says: “I didn’t ask for this, but I’m here, and I’m ready to throw hands if necessary.”

Not a girly pose. Not a cutesy smile. Just pure Mandi energy, quiet, steady, capable, and absolutely ready to disappear the second the camera flash goes off. And when I post this? Oh, she’s gonna turn red, run, and hide behind a whole person. Not a door. Not a wall.
A person. Because she’s gonna blush so hard she’ll need a human shield just to survive the attention.

But she’ll peek around them, that tiny smile she tries to hide giving her away because even though she pretends she hates being in the spotlight, she secretly loves when we brag on her.

So happy birthday to Mandi, the shy sister with the soft heart, the strong backbone, the quiet grit, the Dine‑n‑Dash instincts, and the legendary ability to be the most capable elf Louisiana has ever seen.

🔥🎉We love you, we admire you, and yes we’re roasting you because you’ll pretend you hate it while secretly loving every second.

🔥🚒HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RICK!! OUR FAVORITE OLDIE‑BUT‑GOODIE!🚒🔥

Let’s give a big BBVFD shoutout to Rick, the man who’s been serving this department since back when half of y’all were still chewing on teething rings. He’s the definition of old-school firehouse stock, built tough, works hard, and stubborn enough to argue with a brick wall and win.

This man can fix anything. And I mean anything. If it’s broken, he’ll fix it. If it’s not broken, he’ll still fix it because he “doesn’t like how it sounds.” And yes, we’ve all heard the stories about those “fixes.” Some heroic, some questionable, some that probably violated at least three laws of physics. But did it work? Eventually. Mostly. Kinda.

Now let’s talk about the comedy gold: Rick the Dad; the man who raised Jade with the intensity of a boot camp instructor - has apparently transformed into Soft Serve Pawpaw, melting faster than ice cream in the Louisiana sun for his grandbabies. Jade said it plain: “I don't know ho that man is, but he is not hte dad who raised me. Lol.” The man who used to enforce rules like the Ten Commandments now folds if a grandkid breathes in his direction.

But don’t let that fool you, he’s still stubborn enough to fight retirement like it’s a house fire. He could retire tomorrow, but nope. He’s out here working 60+ hours a week, like he’s trying to outrun Father Time with a wrench in one hand and a to-do list in the other. Men like Rick? They don’t make them anymore. Hard-working, loyal, stubborn as a mule with an attitude problem, and built from that old-school grit you can’t teach.

So happy birthday, Rick. Thanks for the years of service, the stories, the chaos, the fixes, and the example you set, even if you’ve gone soft in your golden years.

🔥🚒🎉
Your BBVFD family loves you, respects you, and will absolutely roast you every chance we get.
