đĽđ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FAVORITE BOAT CAPTAIN! đđĽ Yes, the one in the shades. The DrâPepperâpowered menace. The mower. The myth.
Today we celebrate the BBVFDâs very own Captain WildlifeâFeeder, who once spent an ENTIRE deer season doing absolutely nothing but: feeding every deer, raccoon, possum, squirrel, and freeloading critter in Iberville Parish. Not one deer was shot. He was running a fullâservice buffet in the woods.
We felt so bad for him, we bought him a blowâup deer for Christmas so he could finally say he âgot one.â And honestly? Itâs still his biggest trophy.
Now letâs talk about this legend:
Heâs a boat captain by trade and short enough that if he drops something under the truck, heâs basically going spelunking. He's not the shortest on oir crew â just short enough to make jokes easy. His wife, my sister calls him a grassâpro with a heart, and YES â I changed the language for public posting, đ
He drinks Dr Pepper like itâs blessed by the Diocese, and if you hand him anything else heâll act like you just insulted his entire bloodline. And the grass? Lord help us. He cuts the grass even when itâs already cut. Freshly mowed? Heâs mowing again. Perfectly edged? Heâs edging again. Grass still wet? Heâs out there like, âItâs fine.â His yard is the prettiest in the parish because heâs THAT guy â the one silently judging your lawn behind his shades.
And instead of spending his birthday hunting wildlife (which we now know he only feeds anyway)⌠he spent it doing firehouse chores and helping the BBVFD crew get things squared away. Short king dedication.
So hereâs to you, Captain: The man who can run a boat, run a mower, run his mouth, and still run to help his community every single time. Short, sassy, lawnâobsessed, DrâPepperâpowered, wildlifeâfeeding, blowâupâdeerâowning, and absolutely family.
đĽđ Happy Birthday, Dameonn.
May your grass stay green, your wildlife stay fed, and your Dr Pepper stay cold.
