Final Preparations Before the Blizzard

If a major storm is approaching, now is the time to finish your preparations. A few simple steps taken today can prevent problems tomorrow.

Before the snow begins:

🚫 Check for local parking bans and move vehicles as required
πŸͺ‘ Secure loose outdoor items that could blow or become buried
πŸ”‹ Fully charge battery-powered devices, including cell phones, flashlights, and radios
❄️ Prepare snow removal equipment and fuel snowblowers safely
⚑ Ready generators now and confirm they operate properly β€” and remember, generators are for outdoor use only

Preparation reduces emergency calls, protects property, and keeps responders focused on true emergencies.

Take the time now. Stay ready. Stay safe.

❄️πŸ”₯ Fire Safety During Winter Storms πŸ”₯❄️

Winter storms bring more than snowβ€”they also bring an increased risk of home fires. As you stay warm this winter, keep these safety tips in mind:

βœ”οΈ Test smoke & carbon monoxide alarms
βœ”οΈ Use space heaters safely (keep items 3 feet away)
βœ”οΈ Never use generators or grills indoors
βœ”οΈ Have flashlights readyβ€”avoid candles
βœ”οΈ Clear snow from walkways, house numbers, and fire hydrants
βœ”οΈ Check on neighbors who may need help

A little preparation goes a long way in keeping your family and our community safe. Stay warm, stay safe, and be fire smart this winter!
