Last nights training was a "smashing" success!
Our staged incident was an ATV accident involving 2 juveniles, approximately 1/3 of a mile out a trail from our staging area - One male with a tree branch impaled in his upper thigh and a female with open fractures (arm and leg). This "call" came in as 2 separate "dropped calls" limiting the amount of information that our Crews had for their initial response. Our first responders worked great together coordinating treatment and extrication.
Thank you to the Daniels family and the Bogie family for letting us use their property, side-by-side for shuttling everyone in and out and the Bogie kids! They did a fantastic job!

Groton Ryegate FAST Squad, Groton Vol. Fire Dept and Ryegate Fire Dept will be participating in a drill in Groton this evening beginning at 18:00. Location address withheld at this time - Members attending this training will not know what their scenario is until it is dispatched to them.
So if you see our trucks out and about please don't be alarmed - It's our members training hard so we're as prepared as we can be!

"Eventually all good things must come to and end"
After 3 years as Head of Service I have decided not to continue the position in 2024. Not for any reason other than freeing up some time to spend with family - and our new gorgeous grandson :)

It has been my honor to sit in this seat. It has had it's challenges but mostly...it has been so very rewarding.

Derek Curtis has held this position prior to me and I'm happy to say he has been re-elected for 2024...Congratulations Derek! Thank you for the guidance and your unwavering support.

I look forward to continuing to serve my community as an EMT - with fewer meetings and less paperwork :)
