🏌️‍♀️Congratulations to Carlee Johnson and Claire Schuelke on a great State Golf Meet! Carlee finished 30th and Claire finished 68th out of 90 golfers. We are proud of you both and your ability to compete through every type of weather this spring season brought you!⛳

And just like that, the 2025-26 athletic year is officially in the books! From first practices to state competitions, our student-athletes represented Groton Area with hard work, determination, and Tiger pride. In just under nine weeks, we'll be back at it for the 2026-27 athletic year! While we're proud of everything our student-athletes accomplished during the 2025-26 season, we are already excited to see what the next chapter holds for Tiger Nation. Enjoy the summer, Tigers! We cannot wait to cheer you on again soon! 🐯🐾💛

🏅Congratulations to Groton Area Junior, McKenna Tietz, on battling her way to a 7th place finish in the Girls 300m Hurdles, crossing the finish line in 46.48 while competing against the top athletes in the state.👟

Her dedication, determination, and perseverance have helped her achieve success both individually and as a member of several outstanding relay teams. In the State Prelims yesterday, she lowered her OWN SCHOOL RECORD in the 300m Hurdles to an impressive 45.49!🔥

🔥Congratulations to Groton Area senior, Keegen Tracy, on an outstanding performance at the SDHSAA State A Track & Field Meet! Not only did Keegen bring home a State Championship in the 400m Dash with a personal best time, but he also scored points for the Tigers in three additional events, including a tremendous effort on the 400m leg of the Sprint Medley Relay. 🐅

🏅 5th Place – 200m Dash (22.89)
🏅 5th Place – 100m Dash (11.26)

🏅Girls 4x200m Relay – (McKenna Tietz, Taryn Traphagen, Kella Tracy, Makenna Krause – placed 4th with a time of 1:47.21!!)

🔥After 38 years, a new name sits atop the Girls 800m Run record board! Congratulations to Groton Area sophomore, Ryelle Gilbert, on breaking the school record in the 800m Run at the SDHSAA State A Track & Field Meet! Ryelle clocked a time of 2:22.55, surpassing the previous school record of 2:22.98, which was held by Stephanie Herseth in 1988! 👟🐯
