Free Tech Help Every Thursday: NEKDAP Drop-In at the HUB:
Starting now, our local NEKDAP (Northeast Kingdom Digital Access Program) team is holding a free Tech Drop-In every Thursday from 3–6 pm at the Groton Connectivity HUB (1134 Scott Highway). Stop by for friendly, no-pressure help with your devices, internet connection, email, smartphone, or whatever’s been giving you trouble. No appointment needed; just come on in. To learn more or get in touch in advance, contact Izzac Clogston at [email protected] or 802-323-8999. For full details, see the program flyer: https://tinyurl.com/3byneu6p

Grand Opening of Groton Connectivity HUB (1134 Scott Highway):
We’re officially opening the doors to the Groton Connectivity HUB on Saturday, June 27th (11am – 2pm) and we’d love to see you there. The Grand Opening is being held as part of “A Day in Our Village,” a community celebration coordinated by the Groton Free Public Library. Rain or shine, stop by to tour the new space, learn practical digital safety tips, see a live fiber splicing demonstration (11:30am, 1pm), and experience firsthand how this space will support digital access, learning, and opportunity for residents.

Zero-Cost Internet Install (ZIIP) Program:
If a long driveway or underground installation requirement has been a barrier to getting connected, the ZIIP program may be able to help. It covers the cost of underground conduit or extended aerial drop installations for qualified households — at no charge to you. A number of Groton addresses have already signed up. For more information and to submit your address, visit: https://nekbroadband.org/conduit-needed/

Groton Nature Center: Wi-Fi Hotspot Coming Soon:
As part of our Community Connect Grant, NEK Broadband is working with Vermont State Parks to install fiber at the Groton Nature Center. The project will also create a Wi-Fi hotspot for the surrounding area that will help address a known communications gap that affects first responders, residents, park personnel, and visitors alike. We’ll share an update once the installation goes live. It’s one more piece of a broader effort to ensure that no corner of Groton is left without reliable connectivity.
