Our Stewardship and Coastal Training sectors teamed up to host two place-based trainings at Bluff Point State Park, sharing our fast, approachable method for mapping invasive plants. Nearly 50 participants learned to ID 25+ invasive species and use EpiCollect5, a free mobile app, to collect and map the data. These hands-on techniques engage communities to manage and support healthier coastal ecosystems. Want to get involved? Join our email list to learn about future events!

American eels enter the elver stage as they begin to develop pigment and move inland into rivers and streams. Once they settle into freshwater, they can live for 30 years or more, quietly growing and thriving beneath the surface. These elvers typically migrate with alewives as they swim upstream. Alewives provide a nutrient-rich food source for juvenile eels as they pass through rivers and streams.
