The USS IDAHO was deeply honored to have had the unwavering support of the late Honorable Dirk Kempthorne.

His dedication to Idaho and his unwavering belief in the strength and spirit of the Gem State made his connection to our boat especially meaningful. Leaving a legacy of leadership, patriotism, and commitment to those who serve, he will forever remain a part of USS IDAHO’s story.

As a lasting tribute to the former Governor, the engine room of the USS IDAHO will forever bear his name—fitting given he was such an engine for change for the state of Idaho, we are honored to have his memory sail with the USS IDAHO always.
