Governor Ned Lamont today announced that due to a weather forecast indicating that Connecticut will experience a multi-day stretch of severely hot and humid conditions, he is directing the state’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol to be activated effective at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, and continuing until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

Charter Oak Federal Credit Union matches donations for local families affected by fire. 🚒

"A devastating fire has displaced several families in our community.

If you've been impacted or want to help those who have been, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union is matching donations made to Town of Groton Human Services, up to $15,000. We invite you to join us in coming together to help these families rebuild. Check out their page for donation details.

Charter Oak members impacted by the fire, we have assistance programs in place. Our team is ready to work with you on payment assistance, loan support and other financial solutions.

⚠️How You Can Help!?⚠️

Per Groton Human Services, gift card donations (to stores such as Walmart, Target, all local grocery stores, Visa gift cards, and food delivery gift cards – Doordash, Grub Hub, etc.) in increments of $25/50/100 are most useful.

💵Cash or checks can be mailed or dropped off.
Checks should be made out to - Groton Human Services with a note/memo that says "The Ledges Fire"
