Our final “Behind the Whistle” for the season is Jace!

His favorite snack to bring to the pool for a long day is watermelon and his favorite ice cream is S’more’s.

Jace would rather swim in the deep end all day than teach lessons all day.

His advice for someone wanting to become a guard is to “be alert.”

If Jace had any super power while guarding it would be “to disappear.”

Golfing is his favorite activity outside of work.

His favorite thing about working at the pool is “the people.”

When asked what his future plans entail, he said “I want to graduate high school.”

Sam’s next up!

Sam’s favorite activity outside of work is “swimming with friends” and his favorite memory of working at the pool is “summer storms.”

His advice for someone wanting to become a lifeguard is “it’s very rewarding fun in the sun with co-workers and listening to music.”

If he had any super power during lifeguarding it would be “the power to pause time. When it’s hot I’d jump in.”

Sam’s favorite ice cream Huckleberry and his favorite pool game is Ball Tag.

“I’ve spent lots of time growing up here” is the reason he wanted to become a lifeguard.

Sam would rather swim in the deep end all day than teach lessons all day.

Future plans for Sam are “to go to college and get a career in Criminal Psychology.”

Abby believes the most important quality of a good lifeguard is “paying attention.”

Her favorite activity outside of work is “going to the lake and hanging out with friends.”

The reasons Abby wanted to become a lifeguard are “I wanted more money, I like kids, and I like being outside.”

Her favorite snack to eat to the pool for a long day is “a DQ blizzard” and her favorite pool game is “The Color Game.”

Abby’s advice for someone wanting to become a lifeguard is “always pay attention and bring water to drink!”

If Abby had any super power during lifeguarding it would be to “have a fast forward button.”

Rylie’s favorite activity outside of work is “hanging out with friends.”

The most important quality of a good lifeguard is “kindness” according to Rylie.

If she had any super power during lifeguarding it would be “underwater vision.”

Her advice for someone wanting to become a lifeguard is to “be prepared for anything.”

Rylies favorite snack to bring to the pool for a long day is “ice cream” and her favorite ice cream is “chocolate.”

What made her want to become a lifeguard is “my friends were going to become one, and I always wanted to be one.”

Rylie said, “lots of funny things happen” when asked what the funniest thing that has happened during a shift.

Wesley’s favorite movie is Major Payne and his favorite pool game is Categories/Baseball.

His advice for someone wanting to become a lifeguard is to “practice treading water.”

If Wesley had any super power during lifeguarding it would be “the ability to fly so I wouldn’t have to swim to save someone and it would be cool anytime.”

“My friends were lifeguards, I wanted to help people, and I wanted to start working” are the reasons he wanted to become a lifeguard.

He believes the most important quality of a good lifeguard is “awareness.”

One thing people may be surprised to learn about Wesley is “I can solve 8 kinds of Rubiks Cubes.”

Wesley’s future plans are to “go to college for Engineering.”
