The thrilling excitement of a new season of interscholastic high school athletics is finally here, bringing our community together to celebrate our students! As we prepare to fill the stands for Week 1 gridiron action, we invite all fans to take the OHSAA’s "Respect in the Game" pledge to ensure a positive and uplifting environment for everyone.
📣For all Fans: Let’s commit to being welcoming hosts to our guests and showing unwavering respect to our fellow fans, officials, and opponents. Most importantly for all attendees, our focus must remain exactly where it belongs: on the incredible student-athletes, marching bands, coaches, and staff who have worked tirelessly to compete and perform at their very best.
📣Let's Talk Safety: “See something, say something:" When it comes to school safety, should you encounter someone being unsafe, not following guest/visitor procedures, or see anything out of the ordinary, we want to know about it! Find a school administrator and/or one of our law enforcement partners working the event to let them know!
📣For students: To maintain this focus and ensure safety at home football contests, we ask that our K-8 students spend their evening seated in the stands cheering on their classmates for as much of the evening as possible. Congregating in open areas, around concessions, or behind the stands often leads to disruptions requiring administrative or law enforcement intervention - directing time and precious resources away from the competing student-athletes in the field of play.
In closing, "Respect in the Game" is a pledge we all take and we ask that you bring your loudest cheers and deepest school spirit, but always engage in appropriate conduct with the utmost civility.
Together, we can make this season an unforgettable and supportive experience for our entire SWCS athletics community!
