There has been questions sent to me about who is running and who should they support. Without any doubt there is only one candidate that will stand strong for the 8th district and represent our values and conservative principles in Harrisburg. Please join me in supporting Tim Bonner.

We have received tons of questions and encouragement to run for the vacated and open 8th District seat. I (Jeff) cannot thank all of you enough for the thoughtfulness in your encouraging words and offers to help win the seat.

As many of you know, I’m working for the Grove Manor Corporation as the Chief Business Officer. This job gives me the opportunity to serve God while helping to serve others. The path I’m on has provided so many great opportunities to make real difference in people’s lives.

While my dream was to be the Legislator representing the 8th District I cannot turn away from the path God has me on now. I will always advocate for smaller government, tax reform, infrastructure investment, and small business growth. At this moment in time my path has me going in another direction, away from elected office. Beth and I pray a blessing on all of you and if we can ever help you in anyway in the future please reach out to us.

Happy New Year friends!!!!

Congratulations to Dick Stevenson. You are an honorable public servant.

As a 13 year teacher I am pleased to have the support of other educators. This support is, after all, no different than if a nurse received the support from their colleagues. Education is a serious issue in Pennsylvania and I am the only candidate that has any experience in this area. 42% of the spending in Pennsylvania is in education so it is logical to elect a candidate that really understands the issues from ground up. Howard Fargo and Dick Stevenson both had the recommendation of educators in their tenures as the 8th District State Representative, so I guess I am pleased to be in their company.

Dear Friends in the 8th State House District,

I have truly enjoyed getting to know so many of you as I have gone door-to-door throughout this wonderful community. Since announcing my candidacy in January 2014, I have knocked on over 7,000 doors. It has provided me the opportunity to meet you, talk about my candidacy, and discuss my plans for Pennsylvania.

I have been interested in government since I was a small child. I didn’t have a father growing up since his life was taken in a car accident shortly after my first birthday. This void was filled with Presidential superheroes and a fascination with how the government worked - all things my father enjoyed.

I was raised by my mother who was now widowed. She had to work extra hard to provide for our two-person family and she was the one left with the responsibility of instilling me with values and making me a man of honor. I owe a lot to my mother and am humbled when she says I’ve turned into the man my father was.

These values have made me be a devoted husband to my wife, Beth, who I first met in church youth group. Although we have not yet been blessed with children of our own, we are thankful for the family we have.

I have known for several years that I would run for State Representative when Dick Stevenson decided to retire. I have taken the time to properly prepare myself. I have been an elected official in Grove City since 2005, where I am currently serving as the Vice President of Grove City Borough Council. During my tenure on council, I HAVE NEVER VOTED TO INCREASE TAXES and we have lowered property taxes by 62% by cutting spending and being fiscally responsible. I am proud of my voting record here at home and you will be proud of my voting record when I am working for you in Harrisburg. I also bring work experience to this position. I was a social studies teacher for nearly 13 years until YDC New Castle was shut down due to budget cuts in Pennsylvania. By May 2013, I found myself, like many people in our community and state, a displaced worker through no fault of my own. With no positions available in my field, I decided to start my own business. In January 2014, Black Consultants LLC was finalized to help other small businesses and nonprofits succeed through improvements to operations and logistics. Small businesses are the backbone of our communities and I am proud to be part of that.

I believe that I am the most qualified candidate for State Representative in the 8th State House District, because I have always known what I wanted to be and have always done what is best for our community. This position is not my next career path, but rather an opportunity for me to help make the 8th State House District a better place to live, work and raise a family.

I would be honored to earn your vote on May 20th. I am listed #3 on your Republican ballot.

Sincerely,
Jeffrey Black

Thank you Armstrong Cable for televising the Butler County 8th District Candidate Forum. Many of the Republican voters we have interacted with over the last week and half have discussed the forum with us. We knew that Jeffrey excelled during the forum, but it is great to have that confirmed by so many people in the district who saw it on television.

Headline: Jeffrey Black Wins Second Debate

Tonight the Butler County Republican Committee hosted the second and final debate. Jeffrey proved again that his experience will make him the best choice for our next State Representative. Like the first debate, his knowledge of the issues and proven record won the day. The room made up of our supporter and those of our opponents and handful of undecided voters. Again like the last debate, those undecided voters sought out Jeffrey for further discussion and took his yard signs home as a declaration of their support for his candidacy for State Representative.

Thank you to the Butler County Republican Committee for hosting the debate. Thank you to those who came as undecided voters but left as supporters of Jeffrey. Thank you to our supporters who came out in attendance. It was such a blessing to travel as a group via bus thus enabling all of our supporters to travel safely to and from The Atrium despite the weather.

This was another great day for the campaign. The United Way Day of Caring was this morning. Jeffrey and his wife Beth served on their church team working at the Grove City YMCA (Jeffrey serves on the Board of Managers). Then Jeffrey and Beth did doors while the campaign team did doors throughout the 8th District. Finally, the day ended with our table of supporters at the Food for Kids Backpack Benefit. Not only did we have a table of supports we had building of supporters!!! The support is building at such a rapid rate. Thank you Republicans in the 8th District.

The debate went great tonight and we can claim victory! We believe all the candidates did their best. However, undecided voters sought Jeffrey out after the forum to pledge their support and vote. It was great to have another opportunity to get our positive message of tax reduction, job growth, and education funding out to voters in the 8th District. Thank you Grove City College and the College Republicans for hosting this candidate forum tonight.

Another positive week in the books and another week closer to victory. The days now are passing so fast. We had more great experiences with hitting doors all week. We also got a little sun hitting doors on Saturday. Thank you to our Campaign Chairman Michael Cunningham and Campaign Committee person Micaela May Vrabel for hosting a meet greet at beans on broad in Grove City. The campaign met around 75 voters in the district that night. Thank you to all that came and the others that send their well wishes.
