Clarke County 911 Center E911 The Clarke County 9-1-1 center took their first live 9-1-1 call May 09, 2001. Clarke County is served by an Enhanced 9-1-1 System.

The name, address and phone number of the telephone used to dial 9-1-1 is displayed on a computer screen at the 9-1-1 center. The 9-1-1 Center is located on the third floor of the Clarke County Courthouse at 114 Court Street Grove Hill, Alabama. Clarke County 9-1-1 is partially funded by a surcharge on telephone service. The citizens voted to create a 9-1-1 system and agreed to pay 5% of their bas

ic phone service rate to provide funding. This money is collected by the phone companies as a separate charge on your phone bill and is forwarded to Clarke County 9-1-1 each month. From this revenue we pay salaries and operational expenses. Wireless phones or cell phone service customers, pay 70 cents per month to help cover the expense of handling their calls. 9-1-1 is a free call to cellular customers, and will not be billed for the minutes used during your call for help.

Thunderstorms are expected to develop northwest of the area this morning and move southeast into the area during the afternoon and evening. A Slight Risk of severe storms covers most of southeast Mississippi and a portion of southwest Alabama. A Marginal Risk covers the remainder of the area. Damaging winds will be the primary threat along with frequent lightning and heavy rain.

WHAT: Storms with strong wind gusts up to 60 mph, frequent lightning and very heavy rain.
WHEN: This afternoon into the evening hours.
WHERE: Greatest threat is across southeast Mississippi into southwest Alabama with a lower threat to the east.

Monday 7/20/26 6:30am Update: 🌀 Tropical Depression #2 is forecast to become a tropical storm today as it meanders slowly northwest. The center of the storm is likely to pass just south of the area Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing mainly coastal and marine impacts, including life-threatening rip currents, high surf, and minor coastal flooding. The Tropical Storm Watch now includes the Alabama coast, with a 10-30% chance of tropical storm force winds across the coast.
