We are very thankful to have received a grant from the California Department of Conservation to fund a watershed coordinator to work in the Upper Tuolumne. Working with our partners at the Yosemite Stanislaus Solutions stakeholder collaborative and the U.S. Forest Service-Stanislaus National Forest, a landscape-level plan will be developed to identify forest health treatment projects throughout the watershed. This plan will be consistent with the state's Forest Carbon Plan, and will utilize aerial LiDAR data currently being acquired through a separate forest health grant awarded from CAL FIRE last year. We look forward to continue working towards improving the health of the watershed while reducing the risk of large-scale wildfires in our local communities. Image source: California Agriculture.
