Groveport Heritage Society The Groveport Heritage Society is a non-profit organization that seeks to preserve Groveport history. The yearly membership fee is $10 per person.

The Groveport Heritage Society is open to any person (you don't have to live in Groveport to join) interested in preserving Groveport's heritage and learning about the town's history. Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month at Groveport Town Hall.

Join us for a trip to Providence Park in Grand Rapids, Ohio, where we will experience an 1800's mule-driven canal boat ride through their locks. The motorcoach will depart the Groveport Recreation parking lot on Saturday, June 13, at 9:00AM and return at 6:00 PM. Our day trip includes the canal boat ride, a boxed lunch, and a tour of an old mill. The cost is $25 per person. Call 614-580-9099 for more information. Deadline to register is May 10.

The next meeting of the Groveport Heritage Society will be a program focused on cemeteries. Vicky and Nancy Ottman will share their knowledge of grave markings and headstones. They are both members of the Association for Gravestone Studies. That organization has led them to visit over 1000 cemeteries in The United States, Canada, South America, Asia and Europe. They have a wealth of information regarding the significance of engravings found on headstones.

Following their program, we also hope to have a brief walking tour through the Groveport Cemetery.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 28. We will meet at the Log House. The program will begin at 6:30. Hope to see you there
