📣📣💥Tomorrow - Arroyo Grande’s General Plan!!💥📣📣 Pre-written email at the link in bio!
This Tuesday, AG will be voting on the General Plan, which regulates what can be built where. High home prices in Arroyo Grande are a CHOICE. Crazy-making, never-ending car dependency is a CHOICE. Your City being flat-out broke and unable to fund its own sprawl is a choice. Which choice are you going to ask your Council to make tomorrow? You know what the NIMBYs are going to be asking. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Personally, I don’t want to see my future kids out on the street or leaving the County because some Councilmembers were slightly uncomfy with the idea of growth.

Send this post to a South County friend - or better yet, bring one to the meeting!

Hey renters - let’s get down to business! We are asking SLO City to prioritize 4 changes to protect you in today’s brutal rental market.

Maybe landlords shouldn’t just be able to wake up one day and decide they feel like evicting you. Maybe mold and holes in the walls aren’t “urban charm” but issues your landlord needs to address before they lose their business license. If you agree

Thanks to all you neighbors who came out last Tuesday! You all tell the best stories (good ones & bad ones 😉) and our community is richer for having you in it. “SLO Homes for All” will always be our vision and passion.

If you’ve ever rented in the City of SLO (that’s approximately 60% of you), you know it’s tough out there. There are bad incentives built into the system that corporate landlords can exploit, squeezing more and more profit out of workers, students, and families. No one’s coming to save us, but is organizing and lobbying the City to lift up the rights of renters. We’ll be highlighting SLOTU’s specific demands in an upcoming post.

Send an email to City Council ([email protected]) to urge them to include greater renter protections in their budget and work plan for the next two years!

Calling all neighbors! 📣📣
It’s 2025 and there are more pro-housing advocates in our community than ever. We’re getting all those people under the same roof for you to meet! Ever get curious about what it’s like to have someone else’s landlord, or someone else’s commute? Expect to hear Strong Towns SLO and other community members who want a more affordable, sustainable, and equitable Central Coast.

We hope we’ll see you! Link in bio.

Ballots are in the mail, and the District 5 County Supervisor race is heading into the last critical weeks. Both candidates have applied for our endorsement! So who gets the YIMBY vote?
If you are currently a member, you’ll get an email this Thursday evening with a link to both candidates’ responses to our endorsement questionnaire. We asked them how they feel about state laws, affordable housing funding, transportation, AirBnB, and how they plan to help solve the shortage of housing in our region.

You’ll also get a link to a Google form to vote for your choice of endorsement. You can chose one candidate, or neither (no endorsement). You can also tell us why you made your decision, if you want!

Ballots will close at midnight on the evening of Sunday, February 11th. Results will be released February 12th. If you’re not sure of your membership status... Just respond to this email and we’ll check for you. It just takes a minute! There are over 400 people on our mailing list, but just under 50 of you are members. To become a member, go to the homepage and become a member. You can be a supporting member for as little as $35 per year, or you can apply to be a volunteer member if you’ve given pro-housing public comment within the last two months.
