The City of Groveton has implemented Stage 4 of the Drought Contingency Plan due to an emergency water shortage. The water well pump is down and needs repair. The City of Groveton is addressing the issue and will have the repairs made as soon as possible. Pennington Water Supply is currently providing water to our system; however, residents must conserve water as much as possible during this emergency shortage. Mayor Ralph Bennett.

The Groveton Police Department is looking for certified peace officers to fill part-time positions and reserve positions.

Job Description:

The Groveton Police Department is looking for a Peace Officer that

values his/her community and is responsible for ensuring civilians

obey the law. Must also be able to provide emergency services such

as responding to calls. The main duties include patrolling assigned

areas to ensure the safety and well-being of the community,

investigating crimes or accidents, and making arrests as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

● Must have a basic peace officers license

● Open to working various shifts such as evenings, weekends,

nights, and holidays

● Ability to stay calm in stressful or high-risk situations

● Ability to de-escalate situations and prevent harm from

occurring

● Skilled at solving problems and using critical thinking

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Capability and desire to work in a collaborative manner with a

wide range of people

● Strong negotiation and adjudicating skills
