We’ve been busy the past month or so traveling all over the network speaking to teens about Safe Driving and the importance of Buckling Up!

We have been very encouraged by the attentiveness and feedback from each schools’ students.

It’s one thing to talk about buckling up, but seeing the consequences of not doing so firsthand really drives the point home.

We want to thank the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County School System, Thomas Jefferson Academy, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Hancock County School System, John Hancock Academy, and the City of Millen and Jenkins County School System for inviting us to come and speak.

This morning, the ECTEN traveled to Washington County High School in Sandersville, before then heading to Thomas Jefferson Academy in Louisville this afternoon. At each school we met with students and faculty and gave presentations on the importance of Seatbelt Usage.

Demonstrations utilizing the Roll-over Simulator and Seatbelt Convincer were also given and were well received.

Our goal remains to drive down the number of traffic fatalities and serious injury accidents on our Interstates and local Roadways by reaching our teen drivers through education and demonstrations such as these.

We would like to thank the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Lt. Ben Pardue of the South Central Traffic Enforcement Network for their assistance and commitment to GOHS.
