Six third-year Des Moines University medical students recently participated in an immersive resuscitation training session at Grundy County Memorial Hospital, hosted in collaboration with Staff Education and Respiratory Therapy.

Guided by Courtney Sherman, RRT, and Jody Lutterman, RN, students worked through realistic patient scenarios focused on advanced life support, airway management, and resuscitation skills.

The hands-on experience strengthened clinical skills, teamwork, and confidence as they prepare for the next stage of their training.

We’re hiring a Centralized Scheduler to join the Patient Access team at Grundy County Memorial Hospital, consistently ranked among the nation’s Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals.

🔹 FTE: 1.0 (Full-Time | 40 hours/week)
🔹 Schedule: Monday–Friday with rotating shifts (7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

✨ FOCUS Grant Spotlight: Improving Rest & Recovery in Med-Surg ✨

With support from a FOCUS Grant, Grundy County Memorial Hospital is improving patient-centered care by creating a more restful healing environment on the Med-Surg unit. 💙

This grant funded 12 white noise and sound machines for patient rooms—helping reduce noise, promote better sleep, and support healing during what can often be a stressful hospital stay.

Championed by Andrea Weber, this initiative reflects our commitment to whole-patient care and a more comfortable hospital experience.
