Our hearts are incredibly full after today’s Buchanan County Recovery Court Car Wash Fundraiser.

To every person who stopped by, had a vehicle washed, made a donation, shared our event, offered words of encouragement, or simply took a moment to support our mission—thank you. Your generosity will make a real difference in helping one of our Recovery Court participants begin rebuilding after the devastating loss of their business.

Today was about so much more than washing cars, though.

Throughout the day, we had the privilege of hearing story after story from members of our community who shared their own journeys through addiction and recovery. Those conversations reminded us that recovery is possible, hope is real, and none of us walk this path alone.

Buchanan County has endured the devastating effects of the opioid epidemic, yet today we witnessed something even more powerful—the resilience, compassion, and strength of this community. Time and again, our neighbors showed up for someone they may not even know, proving that when one person falls, our community comes together to help them stand again.

Every donation, no matter the amount, is helping our participant rebuild. Every act of kindness mattered. Every encouraging word made a difference.

We also want to extend a very special thank you to AutoZone in Grundy for graciously allowing us to use your property and for donating supplies that helped make this fundraiser possible. Your generosity and community partnership are deeply appreciated.

🚗🫧 BUCHANAN COUNTY RECOVERY COURT CAR WASH FUNDRAISER 🫧🚗

We have 5 upcoming graduates, and for their community project (which they are required to complete prior to graduation) they have chosen to come together to support one of our own.

A Buchanan County Recovery Court participant recently lost their business in a devastating fire. We are hosting a Car Wash Fundraiser to help them during this difficult time, and we’d love for our community to join us in showing their support.

WHEN?
Saturday, July 18
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
AutoZone – Grundy, VA

COST?
$10 per car
$15 per SUV/Truck

❤️ Additional donations are greatly appreciated!

Every vehicle washed and every dollar donated will help this participant begin rebuilding after an unimaginable loss.

Kickstarting summer the right way! ☀️

The Buchanan County Recovery Court family took over Breaks Interstate Park for our summer Sober Activity, and what a day it was! Even with the temperature hitting over 81° and some blistering heat, nothing could slow this crew down.

From peddle boating, the lazy river, then to hitting the hiking trails, we made every single second count. Seeing our current participants, past graduates, and their families and children all laughing and bonding together was the ultimate reminder of life's many blessings.

Huge shout out to all of our past graduates who showed up today! Your presence shows the true heart and strength of our recovery community. You are living proof of what’s possible!

Friday night was proof that recovery is anything but boring. Recovery is finding the "new" in everything—new hobbies, new laughs, and a brand-new way to live.

Huge shoutout to Southern Gap Dirt Drags and Extreme Motorsports Grundy VA for the incredible experience! Seeing our families and even an employer out there cheering us on reminded us that we aren't walking this path alone. We’re trading the old life for a fast one!

On Friday, April 10, 2026, family and friends gathered to celebrate a major milestone in the lives of four incredible individuals: Rhonda Harris-Skeens, Shannon Hurley, James “Bear” Moore, and Grover “Todd” Vanover. We are proud to announce they have officially graduated from Buchanan County Recovery Court! 🎓

On behalf of the Buchanan County Recovery Court Team, we want to extend a special thank you to the guests who made this ceremony possible:

▪️Judge Reece H. Robertson: For leading the ceremony and also for her thoughtful and heartfelt speeches regarding each participant. Her dedication to their success is truly appreciated.

▪️Senator Todd Pillion: Thank you for working around an extremely busy schedule to serve as our Keynote Speaker and for honoring our graduates with certificates from your office.

▪️Nikki Stiltner - Commonwealth's Attorney: Thank you for your inspiring words and for providing the blue pins for us to wear in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

▪️Pastor Shea Shrader of Harman Memorial Baptist Church: Thank you for leading us in prayer and for being a consistent rock for our participants.
