Job Opening

Buchanan County Public Library

Title: Library Clerk-Part Time

Duties: Will include but not be limited to general clerical tasks, shelving items, checking items in and out of the library, assisting patrons with information needs, and providing program support.

Qualifications: GED or High School diploma required, Associates Degree preferred. Should be comfortable with the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and have good computer skills. Customer service experience is highly desired. Must be able to lift 35lbs, push up to 150 lbs. on wheels, and communicate clearly.

Pay: Above minimum wage. This is a part time, non-exempt hourly position with no benefits. Hours will include evenings and Saturdays.

Thank you from the children and parents of Buchanan County for all the years of books through the Imagination Library. Dolly's legacy will certainly live on through the songs she wrote, the characters she created and the joy she brought to millions of people. But we believe some of her most important legacy will live quietly in homes around the world — in the moments when a parent reads to a child, when a little hand turns a page, when a favorite story is requested one more time before bed, or when a child begins to believe that there is a bigger world waiting for them.

The next Teen Connect session is Saturday, September 19, at 2 p.m. Participants will pick a 3D print design for either earrings or a keychain to create a unique takeaway. Please visit www.thingiverse.com and pick a design before class. Sending the design before class will better ensure your print is ready by the end of class on September 19.
