NEW CLIVE CUSSLER BOOKS

Recently two new mystery books by author Clive Cussler were shelved at
the Gruver City Library, 504 King Street in Gruver, Texas.

"Spartan Gold", one of the Fargo Adventure series thrillers (2009) was
added. Husband and wife treasure hunters are the heroes in this book.
Thousands of years ago, two superpowers of the ancient world went to
war, and a treasure of immeasurable value was lost to the shadows of
history. In 1800, while crossing the Pennine Alps with his army,
Napoleon Bonaparte stumbled across a startling discovery. Unable to
transport it, he created an enigmatic map on the labels of 12 bottles
of rare wine. While Napoleon died, the bottles disappeared and the
treasure was lost again. Until now. Treasure - hunting team Sam and
Remi Fargo when they discover ......

"Plague Ship" is part of Cussler's Oregon Files series. In four novels,
Cussler has charted the exploits of the Oregon, a covert ship
completely dilapidated on the outside but on the inside packed with
sophisticated weaponry and intelligence gathering equipment. Captained
by the rakish Juan Cabrillo and manned by former military and spy
personnel, it is a private enterprise, available for any government
agency that can afford it ....

If you're looking for a little adventure, a book of thrills and
mystery, come and check out a Clive Cussler book. The library is open
MW from 2-6 and TThF from 10-1.

HAPPENING AT THE LIBRARY:

Story Time is Tuesday at 10am for anyone who enjoys being read to.
There is also coloring involved!

Coffee and Chat happens every Thursday morning at 10am.

English Class for Spanish Speakers, Tuesday and Thursdays at 7pm.

June Travel Talk on Israel is Tuesday, June 9, at 7pm.

Caroline Hawkins gave 6 hours volunteering at the Gruver City Library this week as part of her Ripple Program. We really appreciate our volunteers. Last week three members of the Cozbey family gave 21 total hours of volunteering at the library. We are getting everything back in shape after getting the new floor!!

Joe Potts gave us lots of insight in what it was like to live in Iceland (the land of fire and ice) at the Gruver City Library May Travel Talk on the evening of May 8. It was a friendly crowd that gathered … and enjoyed the delicious Atlantic salmon Joe made!

We will NOT be hosting storytime until school is out & we get our Summer schedule ironed out.

Kids Day at the Park was April 30, a new event in Gruver, was brought to the community by the English Class at the library. It was a wonderful event for the hundreds who attended. Shout out to the English Class and especially to Parker Grotegut for providing hot dogs and fixings!!!! Thank you to everyone who brought this and who attended. This was the culminating event for the library’s featured country of Mexico (where April 30 is a national holiday for children).
