This summer, BASIS Ahwatukee students Nadia H. and Aarti S. attended the National Junior Classical League (NJCL) Convention, representing Arizona alongside Shivangi A. from BASIS Phoenix.

The National Convention was held at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and featured a week full of Certamen, competitions, service projects, testing, games, and opportunities to learn and connect with other students from across the country.

Students attended presentations led by experts in their respective fields. These sessions took many forms, including interactive lessons, lectures, and even musical performances.

🏅Nadia and Aarti earned numerous awards across a variety of artistic competitions.

🏆Nadia earned 1st place in Charcoal and Watercolor, 3rd in Mixed Media and Impromptu Art, 4th in Vocal Performance, and 6th in Ink.

🎨Aarti earned 2nd in Drawn Maps, 3rd in Oil Pastel, and 6th in Watercolor.

The Arizona delegation also placed 2nd in Small State Spirit, 2nd in Website, 4th in T-shirt: Creativity, and 6th in Digital Scrapbook.
