Those two giant redwoods must care for each other deeply, because neither ever grew a branch that would steal the other’s light. Every morning I stand beneath them for my little tree‑bathing/coffee ritual, and their calm, ancient patience reminds me how small my worries really are.

Spring fragrances, and seeing the delicate acacia flowers is such a treat. I love walking along the river and just breathing it all in. It feels so peaceful and revitalizing. Definitely a perfect afternoon escape!

The big storm took our roof and Christmas away, but Papa and Mama brought the magic back today. They say Santa might visit for New Year’s Eve instead! I’m tucked under these glowing branches, listening for sleigh bells in the wind. I won’t let my eyes close this time—I’m staying awake to catch the old man in red.

The Christmas Gift We Didn't Expect 🎄❤️

​We wanted to send our holiday wishes to you all, though our Christmas Eve looked a little different than planned.

​Nature decided to gift us the "biggest Christmas tree ever"—unfortunately, it delivered it via the sky during the storm! The massive tree landed right on our roof, and for a moment, it felt like a disaster.

​But then, the true magic happened. Our incredible neighbors came to help. Together, we worked against the clock to move the monstrous trunk and get a tarp down before the next rain hit.
​
That spirit of neighbors helping neighbors was the greatest Christmas gift we could have received.

I am gliding along, completely immersed in the scenery. As soon as I finish with the flower patch, I will canoe to Genner and greet the river and ocean creatures on my way. Who's with me?
