The Gueydan Police Department would like to thank the public for their assistance in identifying the vehicle involved in last weeks hit and run at Johnny’s Drive Inn. Thanks to an anonymous tip through the P3 app, the suspect has been identified. Officers have arrested Jerry Aube from Church Point. Mr. Aube is being booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center for Hit and Run and Felony Criminal Damage to Property

On April 22, 2026, at approximately 5:00am, the Gueydan Police Department responded to a hit and run at Johnnys Drive Inn. From the camera footage it is time stamped at approximately 1:00am when the incident occurred. The vehicle left behind a piece of the car in which officers were able to identify that it possibly came off of a Hyundai Accent hatchback. From the video footage it also appears to possibly have a red fender. If anyone has any information on this incident please contact the Gueydan Police Department.
