A quick schedule update for Labor Day weekend!

Women & Family Life Center will close early at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 4 and will be closed Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.

We’ll reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, September 8.

This September, self-care gives back!

Women & Family Life Center is grateful to be the beneficiary of Spavia Cares at Spavia Guilford. Throughout September, 10% of facial services will be donated to WFLC.

So if a little time to relax and recharge has been on your list, this is the perfect month to make it happen. Your visit can also help support the programs, resources, and guidance WFLC provides to women and families throughout our community.

A little heads-up for our community: our office will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, August 20, while the W&FLC team spends the day together for our staff retreat. 💚

We’re stepping away from our usual desks, but not from the work.

As our team grows and we look toward the year ahead, we’re setting aside some intentional time to connect, get to know one another better, talk about our goals, and strengthen how we work together.

There’s a lot taking shape at W&FLC, including the continued evolution of GAP, and we know that the work we do for our community is stronger when the team behind it feels connected, supported, and moving in the same direction.

We’ll be back Friday for regular hours, a little more connected and ready for what’s ahead. Thank you for giving us the space to invest in the people behind the work. ✨

The Carriage House just got a little cooler. Literally. 🧊

A very big thank-you to the always-fabulous Mary Amter of Mary's Culinary Classes LLC for generously donating a mini fridge to the Carriage House!

The fridge will be a great addition for Mary’s culinary classes, helping keep ingredients and supplies cool and ready for all the creativity, cooking, and fun happening in the space. It will also make the Carriage House even more functional and convenient for community members renting it for meetings, celebrations, workshops, and other events.

Of course, we needed one of Mary’s mini participants to properly show it off! We’re also sharing the delicious finished creation from this past weekend’s Toy Story-inspired class.

We’re so grateful to Mary for her generosity, her incredible energy, and all the fun she brings to the Carriage House and our community. 💙

Today, we're celebrating Melissa's 4-year anniversary with Women & Family Life Center!

As our Director of Programs, Melissa has been a steady presence through seasons of growth and change. She wears many hats, supports our team in countless ways, and approaches every challenge with dedication and determination.

Her commitment to strengthening our programs, supporting our team, and serving our community has helped shape where WFLC is today. We're grateful for everything she's has contributed over the past four years and look forward to all that's still ahead.

Our Amazon cart is officially doing more than ordering office supplies. 🛒🛍️

A phone can offer a safe connection. A notebook can help someone prepare for court or organize their next steps. Sunscreen or a cooling towel can protect someone spending long hours outdoors.

These may seem like simple items, but in the right moment, they can remove a barrier, meet an immediate need, and help someone move toward greater safety and stability.

That’s why we launched the W&FLC Amazon Community Wish List. Your purchases will help us keep practical essentials available year-round for participants, programs, and community events.
