Our beautiful little Peninsular Paradise we get to call "Home" boasts 517 acres of land devoted to recreation, ALL for you, your family and generations to come to enjoy. We love Gulf Breeze, and have a vested interest in this community, both present and future; we live here too! So, it is our mission (and our job!) to effectively maintain and constantly improve the City's active and passive parks, including:
~Shoreline Park North--the almost brand new Community Center, baseball, football, soccer& softball fields, frisbee golf, outdoor basketball courts and 8 lighted tennis courts, a skateboard park as well as the Sunset Kids Park
~Shoreline Park South--over 105 acres of wooded area which extends to the Santa Rosa Sound and features the most popular boat launch in the area, facilities such as picnic tables, a fishing pier, swimming area and large gazebo, and even a "Bark Park", all of which are surrounded and connected by a beautiful nature trail
~Williamsburg Park, McClure Park--both with tot lots, park benches and play fields
~Woodland Park--2 covered picnic areas, a tot lot and playground
~Highpoint Park--with 2 additional tennis courts
~Wayside Park East & West--fishing spots, covered picnic area and boat launch
Did you know that Parks & Rec is also responsible for:
~Monitoring maintenance of public right-of-ways, including U.S. 98 medians and overpasses, Shoreline and Fairpoint
~ Providing field maintenance at Shoreline Park North
~ Enhancing existing facilities and encouraging public usage thereof
~Visioning/planning for expansion opportunities
~Encouraging continued citizen participation and involvement by aiding service organizations in their social and recreational activities. - Advocating for alteration of hours, wages, and terms and conditions of employment (employees only),
- Or such other content as the City Manager or his designee shall reasonably consider unacceptable.
