Public Advisory!!

Heads up, Gulf Shores — counterfeit $100 bills are circulating locally.

If you handle cash, or accept cash, please take a moment to double‑check that bills are legitimate. Look for the built‑in security features on real U.S. currency such as raised ink, the blue 3‑D ribbon, color‑shifting ink, and the Franklin watermark.

When in doubt, don’t complete the transaction and notify GSPD.

Thanks for helping our community.

Congratulations to Officer K. Winkeler and Officer S. Mullen on successfully completing the Alabama Peace Officer Standards Training (APOST) program at the Mobile Police Academy. The 560‑hour course is a mandatory requirement for certification as a law enforcement officer in the State of Alabama, and both officers have met that challenge with dedication and professionalism.

They will now begin field training under the guidance of a Field Training Officer as they transition from the academy to serving our community.

When you see them out on patrol, be sure to say hello!

Thank you to the West Beach Properties HOA for their generous donation to the Gulf Shores Police Association— and for the carrot cake that vanished faster than a prime beach spot on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
We tried to pace ourselves. We failed spectacularly.
