The campground offers: pull-thru sites, back-in sites, water front campsites, and ADA accessible sites. All sites have water, sewer and electric (20,30, & 50 amp). All sites have a picnic table and pedestal grill. There is a laundry facility located beside the camp store to accommodate our guests. There are two playgrounds located in the campground. The park also features an amazing nature center

with scheduled weekly events that specialize in educating the public on the local flora and fauna. Trails and Picnic Areas: Sunrise to Sunset

We had a great time with Orange Beach Senior Center teaching our Pine Needle Basketry Course. We had some talented participants, who made some beautiful little baskets!

Mark Your Calendars! Our fall Dive Against Debris event is happening October 3 from 8–11 AM.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to snorkel or dive beneath our saltwater pier! Together, we’ll work to remove as much trash and discarded fishing gear as possible, helping reduce the risk of marine wildlife becoming entangled and preventing the loss of fishing gear in the water.

Need snorkel or dive gear? Under Dive Shop is offering free tank rentals and discounted gear rentals for the event. Be sure to contact them for details.

Essential repairs are being made at the Gulf State Park Pier House and Tackle Shop! ByWater Beachside Beach Bar & Grill will handle all food and beverage service during this period. Pier entrance fees and permits will still be collected, but bait sales and rod rentals will not be available. Thank you for your understanding!

This might look like a snake, but it’s actually an Eastern Glass Lizard, a type of legless lizard commonly found throughout the Southeast!

So, what separates a legless lizard from a snake? There are a few key differences!
• Lizards have movable eyelids, while snakes do not.
• Lizards have external ear openings, while snakes do not.
• Snakes have flexible jaws that allow them to swallow large prey, while glass lizards have a more fixed jaw structure.

If you want to see one close up, come to the Nature Center and meet our Glass Lizard creature teacher!

Get ready for a SPOOK-tacular night at the Pendergrass Trail Spook Walk at Gulf State Park!

Join us on Friday, October 30th, from 5–8 PM for an evening of Halloween fun at Pendergrass Trail at Gulf State Park! Enjoy trick-or-treat stations, a scavenger hunt, the Monster Mash, candy, and plenty of family-friendly surprises along the trail.

Last week at Gulf State Park, our team led an inspiring professional development workshop for our local educators!

During the workshop, teachers had the opportunity to explore Alabama State Parks as an outdoor classroom while learning about the biodiversity of southern Alabama, building fairy houses, seining in Lake Shelby, and much more!

Thank you to all the educators who joined us and to The Caring Foundation of Blue Cross Blue Shield for making this workshop possible!
