**Registrations continue for our upcoming Summer Program.**

Registrations for the Gulfport Recreation Center's 2026 Summer Program begins on March 2nd for Gulfport resident children and April 1st for non-residents. Great News, summer fees remain the same as last summer😎. Registrations are accepted Monday-Friday between 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

THANK YOU to Eckerd College's Gulf Scholar Program Co-Director Amanda Hagood and students, Hazel and Cami for providing a Beach Health presentation and activities to our afterschool children. Hazel and Cami showed a 10-minute presentation about beach habitat and creatures, and then highlighted the impact that trash and development has on those beaches. After the presentation, the children worked in groups to create their beaches and competed in creating the most resilient beach to withstand flood waters.

Congratulations to the winners of the City of Gulfport's Holiday Decorations Contest. The winner of the General Theme is Eddie Smith & Patrick Mortimer at 1520 60th Street South and the winner of the Commercial Theme is Gary King at 817-821 49th Street South.

What a great Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony that included our Tot Time/VPK Program and School Year Child Care Program. The children were amazing and they really sang their hearts out.

HOLIDAY DECORATIONS CONTEST

Gulfport residents, are you ready to get in the holiday spirit and brighten up our City for the holiday season? Then it is time to enter the City of Gulfport’s Holiday Decorations Contest. “Santa and his Elves” will be judging on Wednesday, December 17th. No one knows what time the big red sleigh will travel through the City of Gulfport, but please be ready by 6:00 p.m. Deadline to enter the contest is Noon, Wednesday, December 17th. There are two theme categories: General and Commercial. The general theme is for single home only and the commercial theme is for single business and professional locations, including home occupations. Homes and businesses must be within Gulfport City limits. A plaque will be awarded to one winner of each theme category and recognized at the Gulfport’s City Council meeting on Tuesday, January 6th at 6:00 p.m. Register to enter at mygulfport.us/holiday-decorations-contest/ or stop by the Gulfport Recreation Center or City Hall to pick up an application.
