As the November 5, 2024 General Election approaches, Absentee Voting began on Monday, September 23rd and continues until Saturday, November 2nd at noon.
Circuit Clerk’s Offices offer extended hours for Absentee Voting on Saturday, October 26th and Saturday, November 2nd (deadline to vote absentee in person) from 8:00 am - Noon.
All mail in Absentee ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, Tuesday November 5th, and those received within 5 days after the Election are valid.
In order to vote absentee, you must comply with at least one of the reasons listed on the application for absentee ballot. The following is a list of some of the reasons found on the application:
* Will be outside the county on Election Day;
* 65 years of age or older;
* Required to be at work on Election Day during the time which the polls are open;
* Student, teacher or administrator away at college;
* Have a permanent physical disability, or;
* Temporary physical disability;
* Enlisted or commissioned member of any component of the US Armed Forces and a citizen of MS or spouse or dependent of such member;
* Citizen of MS temporarily residing outside the territorial limits of the US and the District of Columbia;

The deadline to register to vote in person is Monday, October 7th, and all mail in applications must be postmarked by October 7th.(Applications are available on the county website @ harrisoncountyms.gov).
Circuit Clerk’s Offices will be open on Saturday, October 5th from 8:00 am - Noon for voter registration.
