Open Doors Homeless Coaliton and Mental Health Association of South Mississippi worked together to get Ms. Loretta from homelessness to housed! Coordination among organizations and providing support throughout the process are the keys to making the transition quicker and easier! And…we must give a big SHOUT OUT to Coast Electric Power Association for the donation that allowed us to provide food to her to get her started in her new home!! 🏠

At our August CoC meeting we had the privilege of hearing from a panel of individuals with lived experience of homelessness along with staff members from CoC organizations that have supported them along the way and continue to support them!

Lived experience brings a perspective that cannot be replaced. By listening to those who have walked through homelessness firsthand, we can better understand what works, what needs to change, and how we can build a stronger, more compassionate system of support.

We thank our panelists for sharing their experiences! Your voices matter!
