The Harrison County Board of Supervisors is currently holding budget hearings for Fiscal Year 2027.
Elected officals, department heads, and community partners appear before the board and present budget requests for the coming fiscal year. The board discusses the requests and will vote to accept a budget for the county at an upcmoing board meeting.
The 2027 Fiscal Year for Harrison County begins October 1 and runs through September, 30, 2027.

Join Harrison County for its annual Hurricane Camille Remembrance on Monday, August 17 at 8 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
Hurricane Camille, a Category 5 storm, killed 143 people when it devastated South Mississippi.
Each year, the victims are remembered during a small ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport, where three unidentified women killed in the storm are buried. They have come to be known as “Faith, Hope and Charity.”
Fresh flowers are placed on their graves followed by a moment of silence honoring those who lost their lives in the storm.

Tropical Storm Arthur Disaster Assistance Available
President Donald Trump has approved a disaster declaration for areas impacted by Tropical Storm Arthur from June 18-20, including Harrison County and the cities of Biloxi, D'Iberville, Gulfport, Long Beach and Pass Christian.
Residents affected by the storm have until Oct. 2 to apply for FEMA disaster assistance. Assistance is available for eligible individuals and households, while public assistance is available for government recovery efforts.
Apply at DisasterAssistance.gov or call FEMA at 800-621-3362. Applicants should have personal information available, including their Social Security number, address and phone number.
Disaster relief organizations also continue to assist with recovery and cleanup. The Long-Term Recovery Committee is coordinating assistance from local nonprofit organizations.

Harrison County District 3 Supervisor Marlin Ladner has been at the forefront of the ongoing discussion over the opening of the Bonnet Carre' Spillway and the impacts it's had on Coastal Mississippi and Harrison County.
Join Supervisor Ladner and the Harrison County Board of Supervisors, along with Dr. Mobi Solange and other members of the Mississippi Sound Coalition on Tuesday, July 28, for a Roundtable Discussion with Congressman Mike Ezell and members of his team.
The meeting starts at 10 a.m. and will be held at
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Hospitality Resort Management Center, Hall A, 420 DeBuys Road in Biloxi.
The free meeting is a great opportunity for the citizens of Harrison County to get useful information and voice their opinions on important environmental-related issues impacting Harrison County.

The road will be temporally down to one lane in certain areas as the work is completed.

Update as of 7/28/26 @ 11:20am the Boil Water Notice has been lifted.

BOIL WATER NOTICE
(Gulfport, MS) – Riverbend Utilities, Inc. has issued a “Boil Water Notice” effective immediately for citizens who live in the area of Hwy 53 between Finley Cemetery Dr and Finley Dr to include Orchard Dr and Georgia Pl.
Consumers should boil all drinking water for one minute and let cool before consuming.
This advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Residents will be notified when tests show that the water is safe to drink by removal of signs in effected areas.
