August is nearly over, and that means it's time for September's Calendar! A few important updates: We are closed for Labor Day the 5th - 7th, which means Writer's Workshop (Ages 18+)will be the 21st instead! Also, on the 26th we will not have a movie showing due to a meeting room request overlap. Also, it's time for Homeschool Hangout to resume, but this year will look a little different, so keep an eye on our socials to learn more soon!

Orange Grove Public Library would like to thank Books a Million Biloxi Store 176, their staff, and our AMAZING community! Due to your generosity, we received 15 crates (or roughly $7,000) of books!
So, once again, THANK YOU ALL! We hope to get this catalogued and on the shelves soon!

With schools getting back in session, it's time for us to return to our regularly scheduled programs this August. But, with a few updates! Scrap and Yap, the bring your own craft crafters group, will be meeting the third Tuesday of each month from 5-6:30pm. Lego Club and Pokemon Club are back to their regular days, and due to cancellations, Teen Book Club will be reusing the previous theme of "murder most foul" for books to bring and discuss. Also, our movie matinee theme is "Back to School", whether that's rocking in the classroom, or saying "Oh Captain my Captain", we hope to see you soon!

Cooking Matters was a massive success, with new recipes and facts about food and nutrition, our class of new graduates really excelled! With all the parties wrapped up, and the last of the Reading logs turned in, it's time for my favorite part of summer reading, the Read-a-thon results!

Drumroll please........

Librarians win it! With a total of 436 hours between the 9 members of staff, we had the Adult Team Brachiosaurus hot on our tail, coming in with 304 hours. But the teens weren't so easily beaten this year! Team Ithica logged 303 hours and 27 minutes! Talk about a close race.

Also, shout out to our top individual readers, Kelsey from the librarian team, Heather M. from Brachiosaurus, Kelly N. from Triceratops, and our teen top readers, Dakota, Kiley, and Noah!
